What is Your opinion on the Animal Liberation Front's actions? It is my opinion that they are heroes, and that the FBI should have expected them to react violently when they treated peaceful protesters with violence. Who Else is going to protect the voiceless? PETA is only taking the political end of it into their hands, and although they have good intentions and are making some progress, politics are the root of the problem. The ALF is taking matters into their own hands and rescuing these innocent creatures from inhumane and perverse atrocities preformed by people in the name of cosmetics, biological warfare, and money. Even medical testing is wrong; it causes suffering, and humans are different than rabbits, mice, even many of the primates used as test subjects. Therefor, most results of animal testing are incorrect, and animals die in vain for a product unsafe for humans. How long are we going to let it continue? Because even if animals are tested upon with the best intentions at heart, it is wrong. We are no better than other animals, we are not superior over them, yet we are immersed in a world in which products are hurting and killing animals every day. Even I cannot always avoid such products, although I try my hardest. Try with me, and return the world to it's natural equilibrium. That is all I have to say, state your opinion if you wish to. I will respect it. |

They go to far in my opinion. Any activist group that causes danger to themselves and other human beings is officially declared insane in my books and I won't support them. I do have a friend, he's extreme libertarian, who rants about peta every other day. There's also the incident where ALF burned a Michigan State University office and in the process destroyed three decades worth of science research. I can't imagine how frustrated the researches must have felt. I probably would have cried if that was my work. But I don't wear fur; I make sure my shampoo, conditioner, and make-up (if I wear any) arn't tested on animals; I support adopting older animals; I make sure my mom buys free-range meat. It's all passive though. |

To protest something sick and violent is all well and good, but an act of violence takes protsest to profanity. No act of violence is justified exept an act of self defence or an act in defence of someone helpless who is being wronged in front of your face. To burn down a lab or warehouse filled with years worth of research is inexcusable, unless the reasearch will do harm more than it will do good. I say furthermore that in any given situation tou have exponential choices. To make any choice that harms inocents, or harms you is a foolish desision. I will reasearch the group then add more opinions to the topic. Once I understand more I will have an opinion |

If I remember it right, the research was on toxicology and nutrition. Which would make me cry even harder, I like nutrition. :dead: |

Research has been done. My opinion is that the A L F are a group who call themselfs peaceful, have beautifull ideas, but do not follow their own ideals. They are extremests who say one thing and do the complete opisit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Libera...ucture_and_aims follow this link to untill you see 'Direct action and attitude toward violence _________________________________________________________ United Kingdom' shown here is proof of their hipocrisy. I do not condem them for their foolhearty violence, but I do say to anyone who considers themselfs part of this a l f gang that you should look closely at what alf says it is, and what it truely is. |

The Wikipedia (although I think it's the best free encyclopedia out there... ) probably wouldn't be the best resource for this particular subject, since it is so controversial. |

I haven't heard much from the A.L.F., and it's intentions seem very well placed. Animal testing is unacceptable in any way, along with harming any other living being...Which it seems A.L.F. has done.. The ALF carries out direct action against animal abuse in the form of rescuing animals...usually through the damage and destruction of property I believe there are other ways to make change than from damaging others property. It states in the ALF credo that it is a 'nonviolent campaign', as in refraining from physical harm to a human or animal, yet it causes damage to information and property? Unacceptable. Causing financial loss is by all means acceptable to me, though... I try and cause that as much as I can to producers of meat and animal tested products. I do like almost all of what the ALF stands for, but not if it involves destroying property of others, such as research, buildings and the like. Who's to say that it won't develop into the activist decisions that caused people to put spikes in trees so when people would try to cut it down, the chainsaw/blade would bounce off, usually cutting off the persons arm? There are just other ways to carry about their business. |

Unfortunately, most of you seem to be missinformed; the ALF started out as a peaceful organization, but WE reacted violently to THEM. Besides, most people who act violently are unnasociated with ALF, and claim that they were given a mission by the organization. Usually, the most extreme the ALF goes is breaking and entering. However, most government organizations tell us that organizations that go against them are something they are not. It is difficult to aquire the truth, but it is possible. I don't want to sound smug or make enemies, but this is what I am sure is the truth. After all, what purpose could I have for lying? |

If it is nonviolent I think they are doing the right thing. Breaking and entering to save animals is fine, as long as you know there are possible reprecussions. |

Who knows what the truth is? Whatever sources you find are going to have their fair share of bias. It's everywhere. I only know the basic facts; research was burned, people were endangered, they've been named a terrorist group by the F.B.I.. My gut tells me it's just best not to be affiliated with them. |
