Well the inspiration for this came from a short saying I made up which goes: "How does a man proceed in a world fraught with peril and not falter? Courage? Bravery? Stupidity? Nay. He merely walks the silver lining on the clouds of hope." My own words, I assure you. Well, here goes nothing: How does a man proceed, When the path is fraught with peril? One man answers: 'Tis his courage which sustains him. And though his white clothes naught remain sterile, He fears no evil and submits to no peril.' Nay, I say. A second man answers: 'Tis bravery which saves him. For when the lion roars at you, He roars back at him to show who's who.' Nay, I say. Third man answers: 'Why he's obviously stupid. Ignorance is bliss they say And when the world fires his way He merely duck his head to see The next thing on the ground that be shiny.' Again, nay, I say. Then a boy, not nearly a man, Walks up next to me, And grabs my hand. 'Be it the hope which he finds, In the tiny silver lines, On the borders of the clouds, Where man sees no bounds Or limits to the joy, The world may one day employ, to the service of man?' And so the smallest voice rings true, For he sees such wonders in his view, That may escape the watchful eye, Which merely watches the silver lining pass on by. Well, that was my impromptu adaptation of my saying into a poem. Thoughts anyone? |

Wow. This... has to be my favorite poem, not only from you but from what I've read during my whole entire life. I even quoted it to a friend who's having a few problems. :D |

That's really what I wrote this for was for people who find themselves in a "slump" so to speak. I've always been know to my friends to be a sort of amateur psychologist and so this was kind of my optimism-inspired work. I hope it helps your friend and thanks everyone for your compliments. |
