So I watched Friday's show where Sami sits there and says nothing as Rafe looks simply sympathetic and depleted and guilt-ridden. First off, I have to say I FRIGGEN LOVE WILL. He just let  have it up, down, sideways, and wherever it hurts most. I seriously went from thinking Will was an expendable character to loving every minute he's on.Anyway, back to Rafe since this is what this thread is about. This may just be me, but seeing him standing there looking so sorry and sad and knowing Sami could have taken him out of his misery by admitting her own guilt actually made me see Rafe in a different light than I have before. YEs, I've noticed it lately when he was around Carrie that he actually does have a personality, but at this point, I don't even know if I want him with Carrie since they rushed all that. I don't know what it was, but I was sitting here watching him thinking how cute and vulnerable he was and this is all Sami's fault for making most everyone hate Rafe. Her personality doesn't mesh well with his. She needed a sarcastic, witty, don't take crap kind of guy. That's why Lucas was perfect for her. I really felt for Rafe and I thought maybe we could keep this thread as the story progresses and come here and write down how we feel about him as the story progresses. You can rant or rave whatever the day makes you feel like. I'm sure we will be ranting at the wedding proposal interruption. But for some reason I think I want to like Rafe and pull for the guy. |

Great idea, Ash! I understand what your saying about Rafe. I am actually going to admit I used to watch Passions (stop laughing  ) and I remember liking Luis(GG's character) and was a fan of Lancy(Luis and Fancy). Rafe however has never managed to make me like or hate him. I just could never make myself care. I now wonder if it's because of the Safe pairing and not Rafe himself. I can actually see possibilities with Cafe, although I'll probably never actively ship them, and Rafe seems likable when around her. It's actually surprised me. In a way my feelings for Rafe mirror my past feelings for EJ. I once hated EJ and his obsession with chasing after Sami's hoo-ha. Then I saw him with Nicole at the beginning of Ejole 2.0 and it made me take a second look at him. It will be interesting to see if my disinterest in Rafe changes in the coming months. |

I thought Rafa(el) I hate calling him Rafe, it grates on my nerves, anyway he had a personality when he first came on the show. He did have some idea of Sami being off her rocker but the longer he spent time with her he lost it. I don't hate the man compared to how much I hated EJ during his joined at the spleen stage of egagmi. He just there for the most part. I know I might feel differently come the week of the proposal but who knows how that's going to play out. If they actually had him interact with other salemites besides Sami and her Brady bunch maybe he could've been more interesting they should've kept him immune to Sami's glittery hoo ha. |

I dont really hate the Rafester but I feel he's in the vortex of suckitude that is Sami. Now, when he's not taking regular doses of Sami hallucinogenics, then he starts seeing her as I see her- a selfish whore. Say no to Sami, Rafe! |

I always thougnt that Dena missed the boat with Rafe. He should have been written as this FBI guy who was honest and compassionate and gave a damn about his fellow man. No smugness. When Sami shot EJ, he should have been completely torned between doing his job and turning her end and protecting the woman he loved. And it would have been cool if the FBI guy won out. Did you ever see the movie, The Maltese Falcon? Humprey Bogart's a private eye and his partner is murdered by a woman that he is attracted to. He turns her end, because he saids that when your partner is murdered you do SOMETHING, the right thing. He should have been always torned between doing the right thing when it came to Sami and her schemes. Curiously, we're seeing a little of that with him being uncomfortable with her playing Kate. |

I don't like or like rafe, i'm usually indifferent when it comes on to him, however when i saw him pouring his heart out to sami telling will how badly he betrayed his mother's trust, my heart went out to him, all i kept thinking that sami is not worth this, she had grief sex with the man she hates more than life itself and she's acting like the victim here, SERIOUSLY SAMI!!!!!. I will go back to being indifferent to him when he interrupts my proposal but for now i'm feeling sorry for him. |

When I was a Safe fan I used to adore Rafe. However, that quickly changed when he threw his own sister under the bus (Arianna) in order to protect . At first I liked the idea of Carrie and Rafe, but I feel like the writers rushed their relationship. I felt that it was out of character for Rafe to kiss Carrie BEFORE beastsex was revealed. I still think that Rafe looks a helluva lot better with Carrie as opposed to Sami, but time will tell whether or not I will enjoy them as a couple. And jade, I was also a BIG fan of Luis and Fancy, so don't feel too bad about that LOL.

lOL, I was a Luis and Sheridan fan. But I will admit that I gave up on Passions and that crazy witch lady and Timmy long before Fancy showed up. I even quit when the first Ethan left because I was pissed. LOL. I didn't even see Eric M.'s version. I did always want Theresa & Ethan to end up together. But I thoroughly enjoyed Luis and Sheridan and their love story in the beginning. SO I know I like Galen so I just hope he can get me to like Rafe more. I'm starting to, though. He has his moments of sexy!! |

I thought that Rafe has more personality when he is out of Sami's orbit. He actually speaks like he has a brain. For example, the day he was practicing the dance with Carrie he actually was human and then when he went with Sami to the Dimansion to get Sydney, they turned him back into a purse carrying clown. Even his dialogue was embarassing and I think the actors were trying to keep from laughing because it was ridiculous more than humorous. That said, I still don't like that Rafe is always the one that destroys EJ or Nicole or both. He did it with the babyswitch, the Sydnapping, the Rafe 2 drama and now the deadbabysex. |

I am in no way supporting Sami here, but let's get real the only reason Rafe is taking responsibility for any of this is because he got CAUGHT. Simple as that. All guys work the same where, there is nothing wrong with what you are doing until you got caught. If Will were to have outed Sami the first time he found out, she would be singing the same tune! |
