THIS TUTORIAL IS FEATURED ON THE MICRO-HEROES WIKI.
-> TAKE A LOOK AT IT.

How to make faces of micros, dealing with real people.
(Certain comic book and anime styles can be done this way too)[/u]

First thing: Do that after the whole body is done.
The easiest things come first.

Now, you must find some reference pics.
Google's Image Search is the best source.
You can try magazines, comics and things like that.

Done this, cut a head off a template.
You choose which template head assembles to the person/character in question.

Let's begin the hard job:

SHAPE - 50% of the thing is on the face shape.
To make it thinner or fatter, you must work on the mandible/chin.
Change the shade and lines to give that effect.
Also, have no worries to give 1 or 2 more pixels of height.

EYE - The eye shape is important too, as the eyebrows.
If you have to make the eyes smaller (or bigger too) do it!
Grey pixels help to give some "closed" look.
And don't forget to apply the right color!

MOUTH - Micro-hero mouths cannot be changed a lot.
You can make it smaller or bigger, with the addition of smiles and expressions.
On girls, you can work a bit more on the lips.

NOSE - The nose is one of the most unique things on human face.
The tip here is to make it like the photo you're using!
You should have no big problems with that, using a great reference pic.

HAIR - After all of that, you go to the hair.
The hair is thing for another tutorial, so what I'll say here is that DON'T EVEN TRY TO USE HAIR TEMPLATES! They'll not match (unless you edit them A LOT).

Sometimes, a color between the 1st and 2nd tone helps in the expressions.
Take a look around, and you can find it on some micro faces.

You'll look at the "final result" and find that it's not that great.
Don't worry. Keep fixing the errors you'll find comparing the micro with the pic, and you'll get really a final result.
Usually, I make 5 to 8 attempts til get the best face.

Keep looking done faces!
You learn trying, but watching too.
