So as one of the few OU players on the team i took it in to my own hands to provide you with my top pokes and ways to counter them in OU; Amoongus: Given that it now has Regen AND spore (plus giga drain for extra recovery) this thing could troll many slow teams quite hard. Despite its low base defense and special defense it is still very hard to bring down and any top player can keep this thing alive as long as he has the support for it. So how do you counter it? Well one way to stop it would be be hazards. With full hazards up you will counter act the Regen recovery. But ultimately predictions will help you the most with it and maybe the odd surprize choice band. Take Ttar Amoongus would love to come it and take the opportunity to set up a sub or just giga drain but a banded EQ will take it right out. Then you have the big things like Terra who make more logical choices seeing that amoongus only has base 80 defense. Will add more when i have the time, be sure to give me anything i've missed out |

Mammoswine: with all of the new flying type that were introduced as well as the countless dragons that plagues the Ou metagame. Mammoswine's STAB ice shard can put a major dent into any pokemon who's weak to it, this includes Thundurus doing 76.9 to 91% with life orb ohko after rocks and doing 68.2% - 80.9% to Tornadus-T leaving only a smidget of heath left, if not kill, after rocks. |
