You are in a shuttle, 2200 feet above the surface of the planet Malice. Not that you can see that from where you are. Once used for troop carrying, the central area of this particular Valkyrie has been refurbished and kitted out for use as a sort of makeshift board room. The floor is a kind of rusty grey colour and in the middle of the room is a wooden table (secured to the floor of course) and eight wooden chairs (likewise), arranged so that a large screen on one side of the craft can be viewed from every seat. To the rear of the craft are doors to a WC facility and the entrance to the lower deck (which consists of the storage area, and beyond that, the engine rooms). To the front is the door to the cockpit, where the pilot and copilot are. Despite the fact that you're in a shuttle, the noise of the engines is quieter than expected in the boardroom, and is quietened further by some music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf8FCLT8S6A) clearly intended to set a more relaxed mood, and - judging by some of the people round the table - clearly failing. There are eight people around the table, one in each chair. (see map attached at the bottom) E is a pale, middle aged, grey haired Hiver-woman with a psyker's helmet. Looking around at everyone else nervously. Seems on the verge of tears. Wears very heavy gloves for some reason. C is a brawny black woman, covered in oil and smoking a pipe. She's playing with two dice in her hand. G is a heavily augmented young man with pipes sticking out of his body. Has a vox grill covering his mouth, along with other cybernetic implants. The design of his cybernetics seems like it's based on the armour of medieval knights. Seems currently fascinated by a small metal pyramid. N is a tanned and bald 30 year old preacher. He wears chainmail. He is currently praying. Q is an adept wearing green robes. Has a huge grin on his face, only broken by a scar that runs down his face. Looks a little bit too enthusiastic to be where he is. T is a pock-marked Guardsman, grim-faced, grey haired and in his late 40s. Wears a headband and sports a slight beard. He's armed with some unorthodox weapons, relics from past times, but despite this (or perhaps because of it) looks like he could deal a lot of damage. Here due to much experience working behind enemy lines on other planets. (This is Trantor, Euan's character) Br: Another guardsman, this time tanned and heavily tattooed with tribal designs. His red hair and grin as he sharpens his axe make him look very intimidating. Like T, has a flintlock pistol, but looks like more of the "get in close and chop 'em to bits" kind of fighter. Here to provide muscle. (Brick, Chris' character) Bo: A third guardsman, younger than the first two, his face scarred by pollution scars. He seems perfectly at home in the cramped compartments of the airship and is whistling as he polishes his lasgun. (Bones, Colin's character) There is a bleepbloop noise from the screen and the ambient music cuts off. A prerecorded message starts to play on the screen. "Zank you for your patience," The Commissar's warscarred face appears, scowling as only a Commissar can, "As ve have entered ze jamming range, I can formally debrief you on ze nature of your mission, and ze reason for such secrecy." "Ze shuttle you are in right now is highly modified Valkyrie shuttle. Ze techpriests back at base have fitted it with cloaking system zo it is invisible to enemy forces on the ground. Zis technology, it very... how you say... cutting edge and ve are going to great lengths to keep its secrets from ze enemy." "Ze ship shall be taking you to a new base of operations where you shall be in ze care of your new superiors. Any speaking of shuttle when on ze ground will lead to your detainment and court martialing. Emperor be with us all." The screen cuts off. Some of the people around the table start talking. What do you want to do? (NPCs will answer questions (if they want to) and some might even be able to provide you with items if you do things for them) (maybe i'm going about this the wrong way. try to talk to the other passengers so that you know a bit about who's going to be watching your back on the ground. explore the shuttle if you want. just do a basic post on what your character decides to do, roll some dice if you have to and whatever) Edited by Orpheus, Jul 31 2012, 04:45 PM.
