haha... this is a fun and pointless conversation. Yoshi was tagged in some pics on facebook with him in the studio, so they are definitely recording. yes, you COULD say that, but that is every band. like, guitar drums bass, you know. but silence and spoken word for THREE MINUTES on every release is not usual. it is unusual, and that's whats silly about killie stuff. i wish they would do an album, like 10 song, and have no silence, no spoken word, just amazing music. that would make me happy and i would shut my mouth (until the album ended, then i would complain about something else). |

as long as its fun man, all that matters. and you would make it through a whole album before complaining? you're a stronger man than i. we'll see when it comes to the killie album. i'm waiting with super huge anticipation, because i love all of their stuff. although I think This Time has taken over as my favorite band from Japan. |

also lets continue this conversation as long as possible. I would rather avoid studying for my exams that I have to pass so I can stay in college |

whew this is a live one, last post 4 minutes ago? I love killie's spoken word and noisiness, as well as Toe's experimentation (or just general movement from their original sound, I guess), but I also listen to stuff like spoken word and noise on their own. Acquired tastes I s'pose. So that said, I'll probably enjoy both of their new releases no matter how far or how little they stray from their "formulas." As I just told Ryan though, I think I'm more excited about the re-releases than the new material. If I can get my hands on a copy of My Idle Plot I will be blissed out for days. Incredible stuff. New Toe doesn't move me like the early stuff, but it's still really entertaining and a good listen. Ordinary Days felt kind of rushed (like maybe the chopped up arrangement of the song was due to quick writing?) but I still liked it and it was definitely worth the minimal cash (for reasons beyond just getting music too) |

you ARE studying. didn't you see the link to that japanese hardcore anthropological tome on amazon? (you're welcome). I don't get why everybody likes THIS TIME WE WILL NOT PROMISE AND FORGIVE. besides having a long name just so they can beat the band that they're ripping most of their sound from: THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT, they also put spoken word and silence in their releases. I hope Yoshi is reading this, because I'm unsatisfied with impact that the silence in his projects is having on my japanese hardcore obsession. and i wonder who does their art, cause its always pretty badass. |

I think the artist for 33C (seriously awesome art there) is mentioned in the insert to the cd, but that's in my car and I'm not walking up one fucking flight of stairs to get that. This Time rules, stop being a hater. There is a Light is also a pretty awesome band, but my LP of them magically fucking warped hard so there on my shit list because of magic. I wish toe would put out their shit on LP. Not because *blah*vinyl collector bullshit*blah* but because I would seriously love to just throw that on and fall asleep. If Yoshi is reading this: Hello! I'm almost finished making that mix cd I told you I would make you like 4 months ago. |

i think they have the same artist for all their stuff. i'm too lazy to look though, so henceforth that person is to be referred to fully as THIS TIME THERE IS A LIGHT THAT WILL NOT PROMISE OR GO OUT ARTIST PERSON. but, that LP is seriously amazing shit. too bad magic gotcha! i agree with toe on LP. that is a good thing waiting to happen. unfortunately, nobody in Japan has record players (seriously, they are forbidden unless you join the special record player club in middle school), so it will probably never happen unless they give me permission to press their records over here. |

I've always wondered why Japan never releases records (unless they're 80s hardcore records that are $400 a pop IM LOOKING AT YOU GISM) but it all makes sense now. Bastards.

1. Haha, I realize that may have been the case. I wasn't trying to pass judgment on 'em for that, was just commenting on it. Like I said, it was worth getting. A really cool idea on the part of whoever organized that whole thing. Apologies if it came off that way - I also don't feel like re-editing that post. 2. http://fumiwo.hippy.jp/ This Time artist. 3. I'll have to listen to more There is a light... I did dig the split with Vanilla. 4. Silence in Japanese Hardcore weeds out the falses. True Diehards only. THERE IS A G.I.S.M. BOOTLEG ON MY TURNTABLE are also pretty good. Anyone else get their limited, encased in iron, one sided 5" that came out last year? |
