I've already remade the "Spitfire Beetle" from "The Future is Wild" http://leggurm.deviantart.com/#/d5dufsn . I'm wondering if anyone else is interested in remaking creatures from "The Future is WIld" and if that could be considered plagerism. |

I love the idea a bit, but I think not so much because it would remove some of the creatures are unrealistic and even impossible. |

I think it would be plagiarism, and I´m trying to avoid that Nevertheless, I find this topic quite interesting, you can make a forum in "Other Projects" section if you wish.

Well, the panzeromyids of Allocene are a kind of improvement of the idea of armored rodents of the Future is Wild, although I tried to make it enough distinctive ![]() |

Probably one of the most strange creatures of the Future is Wild are the "flish", you think that it could be realistic in any way? |

I don't think so. Both the ocean and the forest flish appear to have severed their connections with water entirely, and that is something that modern fish are unable to do: some of them can go out of the water and move on land in a somewhat snake-like fashion, but they cannot live permanently there, as the flish appear to be doing. So if the flish were to exist, they would have to be at least partially "amphibious". |

I find TFIW flish concepts to be highly implausible, however I think truly flying fish descendants have some probabilities. I once had the idea of amphibious, volant fish descendants with fin-derived wings. They would still be able to swim, aided by a second pair of fins, and their tails would have evolved into a vane-like stabilizer/rudder. Like amphibians, they would lay their eggs in the water (perhaps in peaceful and safe coastal areas) and hatch as aquatic larvae.

Thanks for the answers. I think too that these concept is improbable, and in the program the prodiucers never explained exactly how a aquatic vertebrate could adapt to a fully terrestrial live without an intermediate amphibious form. Now I'm intriguing for the idea of amphibious flying fishes... |
