This is an old B&W movie, so people will probably like it. But they also might not, because it's sort of a sports movie... ![]() I just watched it on a whim because it's a sports movie, but by the end I was shocked it's not considered a classic old comedy. One of my favourites, at any rate! |

I just watched this yesterday and it's already starting to fade, but it was quite witty at times - "more kissed against than kissing" is a great line. There was also much less culture-clash comedy than I was expecting, which is refreshing. |

Cute enough, I suppose -- it had all the charms of the typical high-polish A-list Hollywood studio product -- but I was never able to set aside my awareness of the ideology lurking just below the surface. Championing ignorance, provincial sensibilities and American Superiority leaves a bad taste in my mouth. |
