What some of the things you enjoy that you might be embarrassed to admit if people knew who you really are? What makes you smile, but you might not want the whole world to know? (No 'X' rated confessions here, please - just good, clean fun!)

I confess...that I bought a can of whipped cream to go with a coffee cake someone gave me. When the cake was gone, there was still some whipped cream left. SO...I got out a bowl and a spoon...and I ATE it! (Enjoyed every bit of it, too!)

Well that's easy for me! Just being nerdy enough to live all of the oldies I do (at my age) and obsess over them enough to spend all of my free time into it turns a few heads. Honestly! Everyone (well, ALMOST everyone) has said something to the effect of: "That's weird!" Or "That's creepy" oh! And if I tell them about my actor crushes, they say that I'm a "Creepy stalker who likes to stalk old men on the Internet!" Ugh...sigh...well, at least I have you guys!!
Oh! And along these lines, trying to avoid more embarrassing conflict, just yesterday I was sitting around in kind of a free period at school so I started watching the Fall Guy on my computer. A friend came up and asked what I was watching and I mumbled out an "Oh it doesn't matter...it's just stupid anyway..." And slammed the lid of my laptop shut.
So yeah...I'm a little embarrassed for everything I obsess over!!
Sitting in front of the TV, watching an old rerun of The Big Valley, eating a Heath bar, while wearing a pair of sturdy Lee Jeans, a NASA baseball cap, and a "Colt's" hoodie; all while a paperback copy of "Cyborg" lays nearby...ah...the perfect image of a true fangirl of the great Lee Majors....

You're not alone, Beth. My Mom has confessed over the years to taking the whipped cream, spraying it into a cup and eating it that way. As for me, I've taken the whipped cream can myself and sprayed some of it into my coffee to make a nada Irish Coffee.

I've been attempting to avoid sweets in order to help manage my weight (and trying to teach my daughter that treats are treats because we only have them once in a while.) However, I love ice cream, specifically coffee ice cream. It's a family thing. One 4th of July bbq several years ago, my mom announced that she had coffee ice cream for dessert and my brother, sister, and I were like "Oh, we're going to have that now right?" Rather enthusiastically too. My BIL immediately commented "Man, what is it with this family and coffee ice cream?" We all laughed. Best coffee ice cream I had was from a regional creamery, the ice cream had finely ground bits of coffee in it.

I don't know if they have coffee ice cream or not because I haven't been there for many years, but another really, really creamy ice cream is at the Creamery at Penn State. It's some of the best ice cream you'll ever taste in your life. It's so good that if anyone in my family finds themselves near Penn State they always bring some home in dry ice.

Actually, regarding the Creamery... Had some married friends that were living there for a period of time while he was getting his masters. He went for a walk one night (she stayed at home with their little one). He was gone for quite a while and when he got home, she asked where he had been. He really didn't want to fess up on where he'd really been because he knew she'd be upset, really upset. So he quickly said, "Okay, I'll admit it. I went for a walk and ducked into a topless bar for a little bit. I'm so sorry, dear." She looked at him for a couple of seconds, then promptly said, "Don't lie to me. You went to the Creamery without me, didn't you?" He did and she saw right through it when he tried to cover up about it. LOL Apparently the Creamery has also been on a few top ten lists of best ice cream places in the nation.

If that had been me, I would have gotten more upset with him for not bringing me some home. I would have understood him stopping off at the Creamery. But what would have made me mad was that he didn't think of bringing some home for the rest of the family.

Something else that's pretty terrific here in Pittsburgh are the strawberry waffles at Eat and Park. Eat and Park is Pittsburgh's answer to Big Boy. I also think they are probably sister companies. Anyway, not only do these waffles come loaded with strawberries, they also come loaded with WHIPPED CREAM!!!

Also, one of my other Guilty Pleasures, or that of most everyone who has ever been there I'm sure, are the French fries from the Potato Patch at Kennywood Park. Kennywood is a wonderful amusement park here in Pittsburgh. But one of the things you have to get when you're there are the fresh cut fries at The Potato Patch. They are to die for. Going to Kennywood just isn't the same if you don't get some while you're there.

Something else, may I add, that's wonderful is Sarris Chocolate in Cannonsburg, PA. You have never tried chocolate till you've tried Sarris Chocolate. It's a family company that creates some of the best chocolate you will ever try.

On the subject of REALLY good ice cream, right now I am eating Sea Salt Caramel gelato. Rich, caramel-flavored gelato with swirls of sea salt caramel running throughout, and tiny chocolate-covered caramel truffles mixed in! SINFULLY DELICIOUS!!

It's actually a 'store brand' - available at Kwik Trip, if you have those in your area.

In the Midwest, we have a chain called Culvers. They made frozen custard fresh every morning, right in each store. There's always vanilla and then a different Flavor of the Day for each day of the month. They serve swoon-worthy 'Butter Burgers'. The (buttered) buns are toasted right on the grill, which seems to really boost the flavor of the entire sandwich. And then, sweet potato fries! I'd like to think that the vitamin A in sweet potatoes makes these at least a little less 'guilty'...?
