Okay, so I was hoping to use the alien hideout from the Bigfoot arc in the story I'm writing. The story is going to be AU from season 5 of SMDM and season 3 of Bionic Woman, so the last canon story from the Bigfoot arc in my case would be The Return of Bigfoot. I only seem to recall the part where Chalon is in stasis at the end but not much after that. Did Steve and Jaime get their memories erased or did they just promise to keep mum about the alien hideout? My thoughts are that it was the latter, because in Bigfoot V (though I realize it won't be canon for me), Steve said that he thought Bigfoot left with the aliens. Does anyone recall what happened at the end of that two parter? Was it specified how the place was to remain secret? |

Hello Innana I don't remenber...but your question has given me a very good excuse for watching again these episodes! (Moreover I'll would have need to do it for a future story). I haven't finished to watch the first episode yet but if you need in your story to have our bionic heroes remembering you can use the same thing that in this episode : Steve memory of his first meeting of Bigfoot and other aliens has bben erased but Gillian used a TLC to refresh it. Thank you, Bionika, you're an angel For my purposes, I was thinking of Steve and Jaime having access to the Sanctuary, but the aliens have already left. I'm thinking perhaps the aliens can do some sort of time lock on "the doors", leaving Steve a couple of TLCs as "keys" to get in. I'm really curious about how they restored Steve's memories with the TLC. For some reason, it having to do with something regarding his bionic eye sounds familiar. |

Gillian asked him to close his eyes and concentrate. Then she pressed the TLC's antenna on Steve's temple and began to tell him what have occured the year before. Bionika |

My turn to try to provide you the answer for your story. I've finished to watch again these episodes. I think that you are right : their memory has't been erased . On the last scenes, where they are saying goodbye to the aliens at San Angelo's complex , it is never said or even mentioned; moreover Steve said that he will always remember Shalon...instead if the simple fact to go through the tunnel erase the memory and no other action is needed for that. I don't remember how Steve's memory has been erased in the first episodes about Bigfoot ... so now it's again a very good excuse for watching them again too! Bionika |

I seem to be fuzzy on how his memory got erased, or I would say really surpressed, just because I can't wrap my brain around memories being 'erased', then 'unerased'. Memory blocking I get. Erasing, then unerasing them, I don't get that. Anyways, IIRC, it was something more than him just going through the tunnel. I want to say they gave him something before sending him through the tunnel, which again, IIRC, was more for disorienting a person than actually altering their memories. The aliens seem to use it more to scrabble someone's brains if anyone happened to wander in, the person would pass out, the aliens would deposit them someplace outside after altering their memories and the person would likely think they fell and passed out or something along those lines because the last memories they would have would likely be fuzzy ones of the disorienting tunnel. Not exactly ones that most people would call reliable or comprehensible. |

As I recall, Steve's memories were erased using some sort of "headphone-like gear" by Shalon at the conclusion of "The Secret of Bigfoot" and he was deposited I believe by Bigfoot someplace where he was eventually found by Oscar. In the end of "Return of Bigfoot," the alien's actually gave Steve and Jaime the option to stay with them, which they both declined. I believe they both made a favorable impression on the aliens, Apploy, I think, specifically. (It's been a while since I rewatched, about 1 1/2 years...) I believe Steve and Jaime just left on their own with no memories erased, and as said earlier, Steve said he would never forget. I think the aliens felt Steve and Jaime posed no threat to the colony and therefore were free to leave as is. Hope that helps. Anyone else have memories or impressions??? |

They definitely left it open ended for a sequel. Now I'm kind of wondering if there might have been ideas for a crossover sequel if The Bionic Woman had stayed on ABC for season 3. Hmm... |

It could also have been decided not to erase their memories because of Jaime's memory issues as well. They may have not wanted to do anything that could cause her any further memory problems in the future. "Best left well enough alone." Besides, both Steve and Jaime had become true friends. |
