Wet grass in the frontyard and in the back mud, mud and more mud! The boys' track is flooded!

Looking out through my screen door, I see leftover snow about a foot high. The street is lined with 3 foot high snowbanks that taper into grungey slush down to the sidewalks. Large snowflakes are mixed with raindrops and splashing into puddles. It's dark, but I can see the wintry mix through the arc light. It may be that the mix will start to include more frozen rain, and later snow. Seems it might be frozen rain soon as the splashy sounds are getting louder, sounding more solid than liquid. My hope is the temps will stay above 33 and rise into tomorrow. I love a good snowstorm, but this is neither rain nor snow. I feel a bit irritated by our lengthening winter as I long for the fresh air and sunshine that spring will provide.

Mountains of snow left by the snowplows. (Corner house, other than a church...and the plows apparently won't leave piles of snow in front of a church!)

Plow has come along and removed the snow mountains. About six inches total on the ground right now. And for once, my neighbor has cleared his sidewalk! May try a (very short) walk to the end of the block today, for some fresh air. (Don't tell my doctor - LOL!)

It was 27 today (a heat wave!) and sunny. So I did take that short walk. Now I know why I've been ordered 'off my feet'. Really feeling it. But the fresh air was wonderful!

No snow, none all season that lasted more than a few hours. Might get some Wednesday.

The snow is gradually melting. Interesting morning here today (although I was still asleep and didn't find out 'til later). The weather service people were running some sort of equipment test and pushed a wrong button, declaring that a tornado had been sighted and was on the ground! (There was NO tornado - LOL!)

More snow. LOTS of snow. Monster snow. Which makes Rocky sing his little heart out, announcing it to the neighbors...the city...and the world!

(*Edited to add: Weathermen calling for 6 to 9 more inches! No wonder Rocky is singing!)

Brown, flat grass and tiny mounds of melting snow. But I highly doubt Winter is done with us this soon!
