If she won't keep her collar on, can you have her microchipped?

Unfortunately, I won't need collar. Yesterday he went out and didn't came back. Today I had a phone call from animal's pound (he had a chip, the collar was mostly for informing people that thhis cat was belonging to somebody as the chip isn't visible) telling me that he had been found dead on a road near my house, knocked by a car.

Oh, Bionika, I am SO sorry to hear this, my sweet friend! I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that even though his time with you was far too short, he had a happy life, full of love and the grandest adventures!

Yes, I may not allow my next cat (if I take one) to go out...but he was so happy to go in the garden, jumping after flies...

Thank Elise and Bionic4ever. Yes, I had it only seven month (he would have nine months yesterday).

i miss him a lot. Like today, when I cleaned the house because he was always in my way when I did it. Or because I don't have to "fight" in order to protect my ham or yogurt from his teeth or tongue; because now I don't have to sleep across my bed because he was sleeping where I should put my feet.

I'm cross with me to have let him again going outside on last Wenesday. Usually he came back at circa 23H00 and then he went for a sleep but wednesday he came back earlier and I allow him going again outside after a little nap. He was so funny, sleeping near me on the table (due to use of laptop) , snoring! (I didn't know that cats could snore).

I'm sad because I haven't say him "goodbye" (At least for Syrah , I had stroke her before leaving her at my mom's home and my Mom has "hold her paw" during her last moment. )
But KFC just left home without special strokes as I thought he would came back before I go to bed in one or two hours. And I have searched him around the houses, not on the main road. If I had, I may at least have found his body and gave him a last stroke.

Dear Bionika,

You don't have to be crossed with yourself, it is not your fault !! It is just bad luck !!
You will miss him terribly in all his routines.
So sad, you could not kiss him goodbye, and give him a last hug.
I understand you let him go out if he enjoyed it, he would have been unhappy if you had not.
Darling never went out since I got him from the Spa, then he was never used to !! We have close-by a very murderous road, I lost a few kitties that way !!
Perhaps Darling is a bit frustrated but he is alive.
It must be a terrible ordeal for your children as well, so close from Syrah's disappearance.
I keep you all in my prayers and may KFC rest in peace.
Hugs

Elise

Bionika, please don't blame yourself; you were doing what made KFC happy. He knew how much he was loved and that was why he always returned home again (until he was no longer able). And there is not a single doubt that he loved you back, as well.

Thank again Elise and Bionic'ever.

Yes, we cried a lot.

As I have asked the name of the road where he has been found, my son and I went there friday evening and we found the place where it had occured. Yesterday I bought a green plant and this evening we planted it in the sidewalk's bed.

Cleaning the house this week-end was very difficult because it has meaning cleaning the litter, the water fountain, finding everywhere in the house his favorite toys and put into the bin the aluminium's balls .

While other trees in the area are fully green (maples, oaks, etc) and blossoming (magnolias), about half of my big, old oak trees have finally sprouted leaves! And there are buds on most of the others! So they're still trying; they're not dead yet! :) :) :) :)

Yes! So happy! My trees are alive, after all... with the possible exception of one). How strange that they're so much slower than the ones across the street... down the road... and all over town!

The palo verdes can bloom at different times too. The ones next to our house started blooming in March, I think, and were in full bloom by April. There's one down the street that is just now getting into full bloom. I do suspect that the more sheltered and especially the better watered the tree is, the earlier it tends to bloom. There's trees out in center dividers around town that have minimal drip systems and they're in full bloom now. There are others that are only starting to bloom now and will be in full bloom by June or even July. (Flowers are really pretty on the trees, not so pretty to sweep up. )
