Isn't there a saying about necessity being the mother of all invention? Thank goodness for their invention! c8654 c8654 I do think you're right though - it was ALL Richard and Lindsay putting the sparks in that relationship. Look at how much they conveyed non-verbally...The way they look at each other, the way they look comfortable standing or sitting close to each other - touching, but not overtly in an intimate manner. Their body language itself is very open and receptive. Even the tone of voice they use when they speak with each other. It's all wonderful :) Yes, she and Steve actually got to kiss, but their body language wasn't nearly as powerful as hers was with Oscar.

I agree. Richard and Lindsay did a great job with what little they were given by the writers to make it something really special. Those few moments they shared were so much more powerful than anything she ever had with the guest stars, Chris or Steve.

The only guest stars I thought she showed ANY chemistry with were Roger and Tim - and still nothing compared to Oscar. Poor Richard - if only he could have been a TRUE CO-STAR - like in those "partner" shows.

I just think the writer's missed an opportunity for a great story line between the two of them. Besides, there have been other couples on TV in quasi-boss/employee relationships that have worked out - look at Sam and Diane in Cheers - or Moonlighting, or Remington Steele. Yes, they came later, but not THAT much later.

You're right they were boss/employee situations that ended in romances. Maybe not as official as Oscar's position but similar in the relationship with someone who was the 'boss'. Yes, if Richard was given a more co-starring role it could have easily been like those shows.

I guess the difference there was that the "boss" owned their own business, where as Oscar works for the government. Still Jaime can't be on the payroll in the same WAY. Besides, Steve was a co-worker -that's frowned on too. And it isn't like Oscar gives her a performance evaluation. I was going to leave one of those suggestive banter remarks on that one, but have thought twice about it.... 85htrs 85htrs

Some friend you are - letting me make a fool of myself for your enjoyment! ```` ````

It still won't work, as I can't do a thread alone.

Here's a nice production shot that Nevs posted on OBW, and I pinched it. (Ahem - thanks Nevs).

I love the way their bodies are so relaxed around each other. That was such a good scene. I wish we could see more like that.

That's what I always noticed - they were so comfortable together. Considering how much "the powers that be" didn't want Jaime & Oscar to have a relationship or at least be seen to have one, it is amazing that Lindsay & Richard were able to put in so much closeness. I would love to see the shots that didn't make it into the episodes.

That is a very nice photo. Yes, I agree. I love how she's looking at him too. They always seem to be having a great time when they are together.
