From The Bionic Dog:

Oscar: Jaime, I should have your head for this. If Rudy didn't think that this dog had a chance, I'd have the state police after you.

(*Why didn't he call the State Police? Theft of a million dollars worth of property? He did put out an APB...)

Because Oscar trusts her judgment and wants to give her every chance to prove that she is right. I really like how he takes her side on that-- even questioning Rudy's 'expert' opinion.

Yes- that's what I LOVE about Oscar - he sees her as strong and independent - capable of making decisions on her own - and he's willing to put himself on the line because he believes in her.

But he did eventually put out an APB. Or at least a BOLO. And what was up with that 'shoot to kill' order on Max?

Oscar was just cleverly ramping up the drama for the show. He knew the audience neede to get REALLY upset and worried before the final, happy resolution where Max proves himself to be a hero.

That was ridiculous,wasn't it?

I wonder if Oscar was worried for Jaime BEING with Max - if he was dangerous. At least he was concerned enough he rescued her from that burning train :)

He did think he was dangerous, didn't he? Rudy sure did!

Yes, he was probably worried about Jaime that if Max really did go crazy he was far more dangerous than any other dog. I agree the 'shoot to kill' order was a good way of adding to the drama as well.

I love that rescue from the train scene. :)

I don't think it means he doesn't think Jaime's not capable because he gave that order - but that her love for Max might be blinding her to reality. He's trying to protect her - but not because she's a weak, emotionally fragile woman, but because she's unaware of the danger to her and she could be blindsided. Also, what if Max hurt other people? Jaime couldn't stop him from that. Oscar had to be responsible.

Oh, that rescue scene was GOOD wasn't it? I'd like to rewrite that a little differently... jkeu5trs jkeu5trs

Exactly. It's not that he thinks she can't handle it but he can see that she's very emotionally involved and it could make her take chances she shouldn't. That's true. He had to think of the general public too if Max got away from Jaime.

If only that rescue scene went on a little longer. I love it when he has her in his arms, but it's seconds.

And the way he rushes over to get her... It's so sweet. I'd love a close-up shot there.

How? I'd get rid of the paramedics and then he'd have to do mouth to mouth resuscitation for a start! :)

From Return of Bigfoot part 2 (Once again, Jaime does things HER way!):

Jaime: Oh... there isn't anyway to find anything except birds nests. Take us down as low as you can and hover, alright?

Chopper pilot: Sure.

Oscar: What're you going to do, Jaime?

Jaime: Oscar, I'm gonna hoof it.

Oscar: Jaime...

Jaime: Now, I'll let you know if I find anything. (to chopper pilot) What's your security clearance level?

Chopper pilot: Five.

Jaime: Well, you're about to become a six. See you back at the base. (jumps out of the chopper)

Is that the most overused line in the series?
