He must have been making at least that amount, mustn't he? Isn't that amazing - $10,000 per episode is PEANUTS by modern standards! I can't imagine it was top of the scale back then either.

He probably was. And think Lindsay and her agent were very wise. But this was the 70's. In many places a woman often didn't make as much as a man doing the same job...because the man had a family to take care of.

Also he probably figured that he deserved more than her because he had been doing the series longer. It may have been the old case of of someone new coming in and getting the same salary as someone who has been doing the job for ten years.

However I say "good for Lindsay"

Wasn't it a problem in his marriage when Farrah hit the big time? Isn't Lee a "traditional" kind of guy?

Yep - a traditional guy, and that's why he's so happy with his current (stay-at-home) wife. I think he has also had some major - no pun intended - jealousy issues through the years: BW doing better in the ratings, Lindsay winning an Emmy....

I'd like to think it's all been a big Karmic lesson for him, but I suspect he just hasn't been getting it...

Isn't it cute how the word "chauvinist" gets replaced with the much more respectable sounding "traditional"?

I'm sure that "The Bionic Book" explains all about the feud between Lee and Lindsay. Did anyone here read it yet? You know the story that always seemed to go around back when the shows were airing was that Universal's casting department had fired LW and then the programming department hired her on a temporarily extended contract to star in TBW on TSMDM. When she was a big hit and they decided to bring Jaime back to life, they called her manager with an offer of $5000 to do TROTBW and he told them $25,000, which they eventually agreed to after initially turning it down. I don't ever remember hearing any mention back then of a feud between LW and LM while filming TROTBW. Supposedly, the network didn't decide to do a spin-off until after TROTBW aired with such high ratings. Then that's when the trouble began. They were going to pay LW $500,000 a season (about $23,000 per episode) and that was more money by some accounts and the same or a little less money by other accounts than what LM was getting and he refused to do any scenes with her in "Welcome Home Jaime" until his contract was renegotiated. This seems plausible considering the 1st part of WHJ originally aired as a SMDM episode and yet, LM is hardly in it.

She wasn't exactly fired, but they did let her contract expire. As for the feud, it probably isn't in the book, because officially "they got along great - there was no feud".

Uh huh.

Well, but despite everything, i think that they DID get along great in the "Bionic blowout".....and because we didn't see them together all those years doesn't mean that they don't have contact or don't like each other......Lindsay WAS in "Fall Guy" and i don't think she'd been there if the two of them hadn't liked each other because it WAS a Lee Majors show....
...but we won't know exactly before someone asks those two all those questions....so speculating isn't really doing the "relationship" of thos two good...too much speculation can also be destructive...

..my 2 cents..

It also might be important to note that a few years back Lindsay was very complimentary to Lee on his A&E Biography. I don't remember everything she said, but I know it was all possitive. I think she may have said something about him being very professional to work with.

I think probably as the years go by everybody gets a different perspective and things that seemed huge and terrible in 1976 are now just silly little nothings.

The fact that they don't speak ill of each other, in spite of what may or may not have transpired is a testament to their both being good people.

In June 2006, Lindsay was asked there was any truth to the rumor that she and lee didn't get along. She genuinely looked suprised that the question was asked after all those years. She admitted that they did have a falling out at one time but that was all over.

I truly don't think that either would have done the reunion movies if there was still a feud...not matter how much money they were offered. Linday has spent years at a time turning down projects because she either wanted to be with her kids or didn't like the material.

I don't know that much about Lee, but also fee he would have done the movie with Lindsay if he truly felt it would be a difficult situation.

Maybe when one of them dies we'll hear something different. That's usually how it goes!
