I have one Barbie and the original Midge. I Got my first Barbie when i was in first grade. but then they came out with the "twist and turn" barbie with bendable knees. The only way you could get her ( unless you had my father!) was to trade in your old barbie with a silver dollar ( or half dollar, I forget)

I got mine. And my father sorta charmed/ maninupalted the poor shop girl into selling my younger sister one. LOL I always felt bad for the clerk. She probably wasn't even 20.

I still have my Barbie. My grandmother was a stitcher. She made bride dolls a s a shower gift for each of her granddaughters. I asked her to make a dress for my Barbie doll for me.!

It was. Oh, I forgot to mention that she also made the wedding dress for my mom. she had three daughters, but the other two wanted store bought dresses. However she made 12 different wedding dresses for friends or family members. I was so happpy that I could wear my mom's.

The Barbie wedding dress was patterned after mine.

Who else has bionic toys? Are they yours from younger days, or more recent purchases?

I do. One Jaime doll. One Oscar doll, one book and some of the trading cards.

Most of them are bought because we don't have that big of a variety here on New Jersey beaches. It's not only just the actual seashells I like but that whole seashell/beach scene decor look. My den and bathroom are done up that way.

I want to do that here as well. I love the ocean! I collect seaglass and lighthouse things. I get most of my seaglass at Rockport or near the Gloucester Fisherman Statue.

My bathroom has a display shelve with some of my things.

I also collect other things. If someone is going overseas, I ask for a postcard, stamps or coins. I love finding old postcards of my city or my hometown.

I also have a big collection of "hatpins" I lost two hats over the years. So now I have several large ribbons hanging in my kitchen.

Do you live in New England Oscarfan?

Yes, just outside of Boston...... Remember in Ghost Hunter when he says the city was between Salem and Boston. Well pick a spot:) It's 45 minutes from Boson to Salem.

I live about ten minutes from Boston ( with no traffic) in a landlocked city. But only about 20 minutes from the ocean.

As a kid, my husband used to go to Wildwood for vacation. We went to N Wildwood twice with our kids.

How close to the ocean do you live?

I live about an hour's drive away. When I was a kid, my family vacationed in Wildwood also. Later we started going to Ocean City. And although I've only been there on day trips, not an actual vacation, I have to say that Cape May is absolutely beautiful. They have all of these big old fashion Victorian style homes and many of them you can tour on a trolley ride through this wonderfully quaint little shore town.

I forgot to mention another rather quirky collection of mine: video game systems. I've got a Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game Cube, PS1, GameBoy Color, GameBoyAdvance and various games for each.

Sadly, they are all accumulating dust since their owner got a computer and went online! :D  B) :D
