If Oscar were ever injured - say...his legs were crushed...in an earthquake, maybe - do you think he would, given the opportunity, become bionic himself? |

Random question....righhhhtt. Since he could hardly become a field agent (he's the man who knows too much for one thing and he's a little on the old side), I can't imagine him being made bionic, unless there was some notion that he could become his own best security system. And of course he could walk to meetings faster. But maybe Rudy has been working on a risky new regenerative therapy (?) for which Oscar could become the first human guinea pig...? Maybe that therapy might have a few nasty side effects that could take up, say, 3000 words, if you know what I mean... |

Well, Oscar could always have his injured limbs be replaced with bionic limbs that are of regular strength instead of super strength. This way he would not be expected to become an agent in the field and could still be boss at the OSI (not sure what his exact job title is called). |

But still...could they justify the expense? He'd cost at least 4 mil...just so he could walk around? How would you, American taxpayer, feel about that?! |

Steve and Jaime earn their keep! The OSI does need to keep expenditures legitimate, doesn't it? Oscar could do his job pretty well from a wheelchair - not that I want him to lose use of his legs or anything, but I can't imagine him finding a good reason to make himself bionic! He's a bureaucrat, and I've always thought he spent quite a bit of energy worrying about return on investment. So what's the return on making him bionic? I think that's the question I'm posing. I realize the taxpayer wouldn't know about it, but if anyone ever found ou\]]]]]]]]]t, that's the kind of scandal an institution like the OSI could not afford. (Those extra parentheses were just contributed by my cat, so I thought I'd let them stay!) |

So how come the only pet we ever saw on either series was...a dog? |

Movies and TV are hard on cats. Really makes me mad actually. The kitties are widely misunderstood critters! People think they're evil and calculating, but as we know they're just pure sweetness. I've thought of giving Oscar a cat in a story, but changed my mind because it didn't seem quite right. Jaime seems like a cat person to me... |

I forgot about that! (One of the saddest pics in my collection is Steve petting Jaime's horse after Jaime's death....)

Aaaw, even the horse looks sad that Jaime's gone. Did you ever wonder why Steve didn't question not getting her body to bury after she died? Even if her wishes were to be cremated, I'm sure Steve and his parents would have been the ones to handle that. Unless, Rudy told him he had to hold onto her body for a while to study it and try to find out what went wrong with her bionics. |

I call that the Black Hole in Bionic History. Always wanted to write a story that filled in the gaps there, but haven't come up with anything plausible yet. |

That's an issue that belongs in the department of the completely preposterous - though I guess TL is right that they could have been studying the body, but then for how long? And it makes Rudy seem a little creepy! |
