I don't think I'd like to see Oscar spoofed....especially not by Jim Carrey.

I can't STAND that guy. Especially when he's trying to be funny.

I think the keyword there is TRYING - I can't stand him either. I don't think he's funny at all - I just don't get the humor.

I have never been a Jim Carrey fan, and the thought of him playing Steve Austin made me sick to my stomach. Thankfully, the project has been officially scrapped.

So...messyhead, B4E, who's going to do it????

b4e is on the case! But if anyone else is inspired, separate versions of the same story could be really interesting...!

I am glad to know this won't happen. Jim Carrey as Steve? What a nightmare! Hard to imagine that someone came up with such an idea.

Only Lee can play Steve's character. Nobody else.

I just watched a bit of "Bionic Ever After". In the scene where Jaime breaks down crying when she tells Oscar that she doesn't want Steve to marry her out of pity (because her bionics are acting up) I love the way he reacts. When he says "Jaime, Steve has loved you through so much - he's not going to stop now." he does it so lovingly that it seems a lot like he's expressing his own feelings about her.

I liked it when Oscar moved so close to the crying Jamie and I thought he was going to draw her close to him and kiss the tears away (as he did in one fanfiction story), but then all of a sudden this guy appeared just at the wrong moment. Arrgh!

Jim Carrey? I don't understand what people see in him...really! I only liked him so far in "The grinch" because one didn't see his face.

It was supposed to be something between a farce and a comedy - a really bad comedy, in my humble opinion. A couple of years ago, another possible Steve Austin I saw mentioned in a trade paper was....Will Smith.

Yeah! Is it going to be your next story? I've thought about doing one, but I can't see it happening any time soon. I'm working on another story, and then I'll be mainly off and on for a month. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

will smith? well...i'm not a fan of him either..and i really do hate it when they pick a "non white" actor to play a character who was always white. i can overlook that "mistake" in the fantastic four but hey... why? aren't there enough actors who are eight for one role and have by accident the right colour?

i get the feeling that often the filmmakers want to make money and ignore important details....and the fans of those stories are left with the question: WTF???

So, i hope that they won't make a movie with steve Or/and jamie or at least choose actors that fit the description....

Absolutely! I think that's one reason the new BW show failed - the charachter wasn't at ALL like Jaime in the original version. It would be really hard to make a new movie without Lee, Lindsay and Richard - and it wouldn't be any better to shove their kids in to do all the work...

I believe they were originally hoping to do a spin-off series from the 2nd movie, with Sandra Bullock's character and Jim Goldman, but it never took off.

I could never figure out why they didn't have Michael Austin in the 2nd movie and fix him up with Kate Mason.
