Amen to that thought too! I just read that we eat WAY more chicken we did 30 years ago - like 100 times more or some crazy thing like that.

Oh yeah - my grandmother was telling me how they only had meat maybe twice a week - and she wasn't poor or anything - just middle class. Still - they had LOADS more grains and veggies too. Rarely soda and rarely treats. And they were outside all the time playing as kids, walking to school, and then as adults hanging up laundry on the lines, washing floors etc... there was so much physical activity in your daily life you didn't NEED to workout. Okay..I digress from my outrage over the deflated price of meat! ytegn

Amish Butter! I found it in the regular 'Butter' section. It comes in a one-pound roll (instead of sticks), wrapped in white butcher paper. It is pure butter, exactly as we once made it in Home Ec class; the only ingredients are Cream and Salt! Absolutely delicious! And it wasn't expensive! Its everyday price was the same as the store brand of butter when on sale!

I have these little crackers that are pretzels on one side and a butter cracker (similar to Ritz) on the other. They're called Flipsides - and the Amish Butter is wonderful on these crisp little crackers!
