Another Trekkie! Oh great! Live long and prosper! I like Bones, too--especially when it comes to his conversations with Mr. Spock. What I like about the series is that it is mostly about the crew and relationship. As for me, the subsequent series (TNG, DSN and so on) focus more on the technology of the starship. I am not that familiar with science. |

Hope no one minds me getting caught up here. But I liked your answers and since I'm a busy body have to chime in with my own. I didn't see as much of the SMDM and he was on Sunday a lot and and I was in church. Also, if there was something better on, we watched it instead. But I did have a Steve Austin doll and his medical center. We watched BW as a family and it was something that we never missed! Jaime was so fun and real and was a person I would have wanted to be friends with. (if I had been her age). I never saw the first few episodes that introduced Jaime until much later, when they were shown in syndication. But I did have a novelization of the episodes called Welcome Home Jaime that I read over and over. Steve is okay for Jaime and I was content with that but when Lori hinted that there was something better, I fell for it hook, line and sinker. I feel stupid now, I didn't see her and Oscar before. I do like a lot of science fiction type things--Star Trek(original), Dr. Who (Drs Hartnell through Colin Baker), Buck Rogers, Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, Quantum Leap, I'm very big into action adventure--Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Remington Steele, Daniel Boone, and The New Adventures of Zorro. I love Gilmore Girls, Ugly Betty, Monk, Burn Notice, and for old shows Dick Van Dyke and the Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I'm more of a relationship person and don't write often about the technical stuff, but rather why people do what they do. |

Hello Melchycat, Please chime in any time! It makes it so much more fun to have lots of comments. I too had the 'Welcome Home, Jaime' book. I just recently read it again and I couldn't believe I understood all the 'technical' bits as a 12 year old! Back then TBW was the highlight of my week ( Jaime and Oscar were my heroes) and all these years later the episodes are still wonderful. Yes, Lori is right. There is something better. I really enjoyed Scarecrow and Mrs. King and Remington Steele as well. It's nice getting to know you. |

Hi Lola! I would love to read that book again, I wonder if I still have it. I was 14 at the time and must have understood the "technical" stuff, but really I just held my breathe every time Jaime almost doesn't make it and when Rudy says they can make her Bionic! |

Melchycat, you are not alone on your tardiness to see the Oscar/Jaime relationship. I was only 9 when I first started watching the show, and didn't see through the playfullness they have together. Now, I too am hooked on the O/J storyline. I hope you'll post often, and join in the Line by Lines, or write a story, it's so much fun, and I agree with all the comments, it's nice to hear from everyone. What's your favorite episode??? |

I'm working on a story, but it's slow going as I'm currently wrapping up a huge story for Ghost and Mrs. Muir. But then I hope to watch the BW ep faster and get more of my story done. It's been a long time since I've seen the eps except for the few that I've seen lately but I've always liked the one where she gets Max. I will be able to weigh in on that question later. |

I have both novels. You can often get copies cheaply on Ebay. They go by two different titles depending on US or UK editions. 'Welcome Home Jaime' is the same as 'Double Identity' (UK) and 'Extracurricular Activities' is the same as 'A Question of Life' (UK). They are basically two episodes of the series but you get a lot of background information which is interesting. |

Melchy I think it's really funny that you were casting around on other shows looking for the right man for Jaime! It's funny how important that is to all of us, isn't it? Even if we do have such radically different views of who it should be! It's a testament to the strength of character and charm of Jaime Sommers. (And her Every-Woman appeal. Not many people have that!) |

Too true! I ALWAYS liked Jaime, and the way LIndsay portrayed her. She is indeed one of those women that not only men like, but women as well...I don't need to look any further than the show though to find the perfect man for her...Hmm...he should be tall, dark, devilishly handsome, a flashy smile, intelligent, strong...Oh wait...it's Oscar!!!! |

Yes, I agree. You know if you ever met Jaime you would like her. She is charming, caring, a sincere friend, great sense of humor, intelligent, etc. so you want her to be happy. She was a real role model for me. And of course Oscar is perfect for her as you say! |

Do you like the US series of the eighties/seventies/nineties as much as I do? The Fall Guy, Dynasty, Heart to Hart, California Clan, Matt Houston, Mission Impossible (classical s.), Baywatch, Love Boat, McGyver, something with "...Eden", Knight Rider, and a series where Ricardo Montalban is starring and where RA has a guest part, General Hospital, Hawaii-Five O, Charlie's Angels, and many more. |
