Which ones - there were SOOO many.... Has anyone seen the season with Richard in it? I only watched the show a bit early on - never saw the later episodes. |

I come to Fan-Dom by way of our wonderful world wide web. I simply started researching bionic DVD collections just recently, and found that there are new releases out during this past year. Good time to research, I guess. I was quite young when my Grandmother and I began watching SMDM when it first began. I guess you could say I had a crush on Steve in Elementary school. Then I thought his brief love affair with Jaime was gonna be a steady stable situation. In just 2 short weeks, my heart broke and I completely felt so broken hearted for Steve. When I heard Jaime would be back, I was elated. This was not all how I envisioned her return. I personally would have loved to see the relationship between Steve and Jaime reform (not in the late 80's...), or evolve into something mutually healthy for themselves. But I was ok to sit in front of the TV each week and watch each show regardless, and enjoy them for their own merits. After all, at 7, I had strong opinions but no say nor any knowledge for what goes on behind the scenes. As an adult, I am better able to understand the constraints placed upon actors, producers, writers, and staff. Then filming a weekly TV show is a complicated matter, indeed. |

It was very much the same for me. Started watching SMDM as a father-daughter bonding experience (with a big bowl of buttered popcorn to share each week). And while I understand that having two separate networks (for SMDM and BW) in BW's last season meant there could be no more crossovers, it would've been nice to have Steve show up in On the Run to help look for Jaime. And a better end for the series would've had Jaime head off into the sunset in Steve's arms...not in Chris's. Buffy (the Vampire Slayer) and Angel were on 2 different networks and yet the powers that be managed to get Angel on board for Buffy's last episode. I really, really wish the same could've been done for Steve and Jaime. |

I agree!!! I was a huge fan of the SMDM but when I saw Jaime for th first time it was love at first sight. Since then I became a HUGE fan of the BW and especially of Lindsay. She put a lot of feelings on the BW and I think that's why the series turned in to a great success and made so much lovers around the world. Lindsay made a big difference with all her movies... She put her heart in everything/character she did... That's why she became the "Queen of the TV movies". I admire her so much as an actress and as a person... Andrea |

Well I only caught it on reruns, since I was born in 1974 I think I love the fact of a man that be through so much (being in that accident) and getting these cool um gadgets LOL I just thought it was amazing. Then when Jamie came along it was the thing as Steve, she been through so much and more (going through 2 accidents) and still comes out in the end.

Hi y'all. Perhaps you can tell I am from the southern US with that greeting. Actually the home of the 1996 Centenial Olympic Games not to put too a fine point on it. I have been an original BW fan. I guess there was just something as a 17 year old that struck me about the strong female role model. However I declare myself an O/J fan. There was just something that struck me about the two of them. Otherwise, yes I am a big believer in suspention of disbelief. As a SciFi fan it comes part and parcel. Star Trek(original)STNG and yes lord almighty Star Wars. But in recent years Harry Potter had become interesting. Now the one thing that is consistent in my fandom is the music of the best film composers ever. John Williams. So there I am. I hope to engage y'all ( see that word again) in some interesting conversation. Regards, TybeeIland |

The more I think about it, the more I realize that in addition to perfect casting, it was the work of Kenny J - his creative genius - that really brought it all home for me! |

So true, because Kenny J just didn't work wonders on these to shows, he worked wonders with others as well. But each show has it's own unique look and feel. Not one is the same as the others. |

I would have to say parents, particularly my dad, is what got me into the fandoms originally. My dad was an engineer and he really liked SMDM for all the sci fi, science fantasy, and fantasy aspects of it. It was pretty much the same with Bionic Woman. I remember during the Kill Oscar arc, we actually brought the portable tv out to the kitchen to watch the episodes during dinner. That was a big deal. I remember him explaining the scene with lightning on the dam to us kids and why it hit the fembots and not Jaime and Steve because I said I didn't get it. I liked watching them too because I thought their lives were so great and interesting and that they were great people. Didn't have any crushes then. Wasn't till I started watching reruns in the 90's that I developed a crush on Oscar. Though I do remember when I was a kid being bummed out that he had nobody to go home to whereas Steve and Jaime had his parents, friends, Max, and once in a while each other waiting. (My mom tried to convince my sister and I that he was seeing Callahan, especially after the Kill Oscar arc I think, but I really don't remember ever buying into that.) |

I think your Mom was pulling your leg about Steve seeing Callahan, Inanna. But, if he couldn't have Jaime, Callahan wouldn't be a bad second choice. Actually, I think you had some pretty cool parents. It's also cool that you've carried on their appreciation for both series. |

Ah, well, it wouldn't surprise me if she thought of something off the cuff just to keep my sister and I from talking during the show. Big no-no as far as my mom was concerned. When we and she got older, she'd just turn up the volume on the tv and tell us to shut up for the next hour. LOL I think I'm the closest thing to a science nerd that my dad got out of his four kids. I think he would have liked my sister have been one too, since she was a gifted student. For a long time I had wanted to pursue a degree in astronomy or meteorology, but they both require strong algebra and calculus skills. Algebra was never my strong suit and calculus is based on algebra, so, yeah, that didn't happen, just wasn't economically feasible at the time. But I do get to have fun him by discussing stuff like the plot holes in Interstellar. LOL |

I'm the same way, only opposite. Nobody else is a science fiction fan in my family. Sometimes I think they think I'm crazy. They just kind of ignore me when I bring up something to do with a scifi show. They also kind of combine them all in their head and call them StarTrek, as if it's all somehow the same thing. Don't try and encourage her. My Mom wouldn't even read the article about Leonard Nimoy in her People Magazine. She told me about it, but when I asked her if she read it, she admitted she didn't. To her, Leonard was just Spock and not much else.

Oh, I loved, loved, loved Nimoy's In Search Of... series! I remember him actually more for that then Spock. I mean looking back, most of the stuff the episodes explored was either bunk or had a lot less bunk-y explanations to them than the end of the episode left the viewer on, but they were very enjoyable to watch nonetheless. |

Oh, I know what you mean about In Search Of. I guess part of it for me was that I just always liked Leonard's voice. But the shows were always quite interesting. It always brought out the armchair archaeologist in me. Leonard really was quite talented. And he also had a fun sense of humor too. And he was a very fine director too. I loved Three Men and a Baby as much as all the Star Trek movies he directed. He was just such a multi-talented man. He will be missed. |
