Thank to have post in this tread down30 because I've read it completely and I found that I've got lot's of things to say(write) about fanfictions (but tomorrow because now I'm too sleepy jy5e - it seems that like most of us, visiting the site is the last thing we do before going to bed! :D ).

What gets you hooked enough in the first page of a story to keep on reading? Or, looking from the opposite direction, what would turn you off enough to make you NOT keep reading....?
I first discovered the site of "fancfictions.net". It was in 2008...and the first stories have been posted in 2002. So I had circa 160 or 170 stories to read. It took me many evenings! :D
I had never read only first and last chapter but I should admit that sometimes I read only a chapter out of two...and if the story hooked me I read it completely.
First reason for not reading all the chapters was a matter of time.

Then...At spring 2009, I discovered this site and its fanfictions.
I had less to read (first one have been posted in 2007), the visual comfort was better than in fanfiction.net, the stories were easy to read (thank Rudywells for "Instant family" and sequels) and I read them from the first word to the last (at least one each evening).

bjd Thank a lot for reading our stories and post a comment for each chapter Bionic4ever. I've noticed that chapters with replies are more read than other (and it could be funny : chapter 19 bis of "rats, vacations and formulas" has more views than chapter 19 although the story is in chapter 19 and 19 bis is only pictures of the place where one of our bionic hero is! :o :D ) and I think that some members of the site will discover the whole stories thank to your posts.

Moreover, if you can read more longer now, it means that your health has improved and it's good news.
