It was 9pm and all through the place, not a thing was a-stirrin', except....

12 toys a-spinnin', 11 notes-a-yodeled, 10 skids-across-the-kitchen, 9 pictures-wobbling, 8 paws-a-begging, 7 clean-shirts-unfolded, 6 treats-a-gobbled, 5 slamming bathroom doors....4 pleading eyes, 3 catnip mice, 2 chomping cats - who were fed their dinner by one exhausted Mom!

They were very, very good boys while I was recovering from the lumbar puncture (aka spinal tap), but now they have all sorts of pent-up energy they need to release. Oh goody....

Not with my immune system - but with my central nervous system. I am doing better now, recovered from the puncture and just dealing with crabby muscles and nerves. Need to have another MRI of my brain in 3 months. Oh, joy.

And the cats have been very good. Rocky was especially quiet today - while he shredded an entire roll of toilet paper! (That takes some determination on his part, since he has no front claws!)

January isn't finished yet, so it's not too late for 2011 wishes. I hope that this new year will bring you better health.

Rocky is a mischievous cat. tdddg Why hasn't he front claws? He lost them or one of his owner has removed them? It doesn't bothering him too much ?

His former owner removed them. He was in a very bad accident when he was 5 weeks old, and as soon as the vet said he was old enough to be front-declawed, she took him in. He's not always completely 'right' in the head - so I'm sure she saw it as a precaution. And he never goes outside, so he is okay like this.

Today, Rocky is very excited. We are getting two feet (yes, TWO FEET) of snow in the next couple of days. He woke Bubba up this morning to 'show' him the snow - and Rocky has been singing, howling and yodeling about it all day. I hope he knows it's almost time for bed....

Hello Bionic4ever.

Did the cats (and you) sleep well? Or do they spend all the night dreaming about snowball battle?

If there are good reasons to front-declaw (like it seems to be for Rocky) and if the cat doesn't go out it's OK ; otherwise I think it's cruel to do that (it it's just for protect paperwall or sofa fabric) because the cat can't defend himself or climb on trees any longer.

I would never have a cat declawed either. Rocky does still have his back claws, though - so if he ever accidentally got outside, he could climb a tree to protect himself.

We are in the middle of the worst of the blizzard now. Can't even see the street anymore. Most of this half of the state is closed tomorrow: schools, businesses and municipal buildings. All closed. So glad I don't have to go anywhere!

It's quite impressive. I can't imagine that.

We got over two feet of snow. Winds over 50 miles an hour. On Tuesday night, around midnight, I looked outside and the sky was orange! Saw some 'snow lightning', too!
