We got over two feet of snow. Winds over 50 miles an hour. On Tuesday night, around midnight, I looked outside and the sky was orange! Saw some 'snow lightning', too!
Your description is quite frightening. What are exactly "snow lightning"?

Snow lightning is just like the lightning (and thunder) you get during a thunder storm...except it's snowing instead of raining. Kind of rare, but it happens during really bad snow storms.

Before reading your post, I thought that it wasn't possible to have thunder storm and snow at the same moment.

There was possibly a 'snow tornado' (exactly what it sounds like) about two hours away from me that night.

I left Bubba and Rocky home alone overnight, while I visited my Mom. Rocky greeted me at the door today when I came home...but it took Bubba more than two hours to decide to forgive me for being gone!

We had an ice storm this week. Rocky 'sang' for two solid days. Two days straight. I don't think he slept much, because he was singing when I fell asleep and still singing when I woke up. Bubba was rather annoyed.

The same friend who gave me Rocky stopped by yesterday - and gave me a digital camera! (Mine was on its last legs, but she didn't know that; she was just being very sweet.) This one takes wonderful pictures...and VIDEOS! (No sound, but that's okay.) I'm SO excited! Will have lots of great photos (and hopefully videos) to post soon. But the cats don't like cameras and refuse to pose or do anything interesting when they see me holding it.

:o It seems that the weather is a real nightmare in your area this year! I can't imagine what an "ice storm"is ? hail?

It's like hail, but instead of little balls of ice, the ground is coated with ice. In this case, about an inch of it.

I think that I've understand what is it : it's raining ice . The correct translation is perhaps "glare ice". Perfect for ice skating (and horrible if you have to drive).

Was the bad weather the reason which made Rocky "singging"? He was afraid perhaps? Is he calm now? How can you sleep with a cat singging near you? When Syrah was a kitten she mewed during the night and it was hard to sleep.

Rocky 'sing's at all sorts of different weather. He sings especially loudly to let us know when a storm is coming - and he's more accurate than most weathermen. He sings when it's rains, sleeting or snowing; he even sings to the wind. :)

He still doesn't really yodel here in the new place, though. I'm almost positive now that the yodel was a 'fear' cry because he has very bad depth perception and the old place had sloped ceilings. Poor little guy was even more afraid of those ceiling than I realized at the time!

The first week here, Bubba got into the habit of licking me awake at 5am. Every single morning. A couple of times, he did this at TWOam! Finally, I realized he was probably feeling a little insecure in the new places. With some extra cuddles in the daytime, Bubba has been almost entirely cured of being a 'Lick Monster'.

I'm glad to read that the cats (and their mistress) are fine in their new home.

Rocky likes to 'patrol' the house - back and forth...back and forth...back and forth. He seems to be making sure everything is still the way it was when he passed by ten or fifteen minutes earlier. Just for a little bit of fun, I moved a can of air freshener from one shelf to another - nad he was so upset. He looked at it, turned around to look again and then sat down and looked at me like "Mama, FIX IT!"
