Every lbl does not have to be either Oscar/Jaime or Steve/Jaime. The General Topics lbl thread was created so that we can all contribute to the same story without one side or the other feeling slighted.

There shouldn't have to be 'sides' at all. We are all fans of the same show, aren't we? (Kumbaya, anyone....?)

I prefer Oscar with Jaime but I respect that others want to see Steve with Jaime. I agree with B4e that there's room for all views. :D

I have to congratulate Snow White and Dopey for being the first one (at least I think she's the first one) to have Oscar make a pun. He seems to be a punster, but I'm never able to write him that way...perhaps because I'm NOT a punster. That "So, shall we hit the hay?" line was a perfect Oscar-style groaner.

Yeah - that was a good line - way to go SW&D. I'm just glad to have someone else doing LBL's... it's more fun with more people. You never KNOW where it's heading that way :)
Oscar DOES have some good puns doesn't he - and some not so good ones. It's funny when Jaime rolls her eyes at him. He's so sweetly goofy sometimes.

It was your setup OJFan with the sweet smelling hay. c8654

I loved how Jaime would look at him after he'd say something silly. naer

Aw shucks :)

I love it too - she is so clearly amused - and smitten :)

I thought that was a great description, Messyhead! You certainly get the image of battered and beaten from it!

Thanks Lola. (Might have something to do with the smashed tomato brought home from the grocery store on Friday!)

So did everyone like having more of mission LBL? Should there be more mission or more romance?

I still enjoy them, but we sure run tracks on the same turf! The mission in this one was pretty skeletal, which worked for me.

I don't mind missions so much if I don't have to provide a lot of technical details. They CAN be a great vehicle to use to explore more emotional components. I think the tricky part is not rushing them but not dragging them either - the pacing is key. It IS hard not to rehash the same material, but it doesn't really bother me. I like anything Oscar/Jaime :)

I really enjoyed reading this latest lbl. (Of course, the romances are nice, too...)

I like the missions where Oscar and Jaime work as a team - since we don't see that much in the show. I like for her to be strong and independent - not as much when she's too wishy washy. I think it's easier for her to be strong with Oscar, since he's not bionic. With Steve, because he's so macho, I wonder if there's a tendency to want to make HIM the strong one and her the weak, vulnerable woman. I'm not saying the LBL's DO that - and I don't do the Steve/Jaime ones - for those that DO - do you have to try to NOT make her too weak and vulnerable, or is it pretty easy to keep her strong?

I have a question about Jaime's bionics failing in cold. Is that in the show or just in fan fiction?
