I don't see how Jaime could ever think of dating ANYONE else once she had any sort of romantic relationship with Oscar. He was SOOO wonderful and perfect - I almost feel sorry for the other men as they can't possible measure up. Maybe that's why she only saw them once :) Except for Chris. Never figured him out.

I wouldn't have been so understanding either in FILV. Maybe she just understands how he IS and didn't take it personally. She was so sympathetic. I was glad he didn't like those show girls either. So cheesy. That's what I like about Oscar - he likes Jaime for more than just her looks.

I can see too why some people don't see them together - you definitely have to have gotten over Steve being some perfect love in the first place. Once that happens, I think you'd be open to seeing the chemistry. And OH, the CHEMISTRY! IHBVK

Although I knew others did, I never saw Steve that way even from the beginning, so I didn't have to get over that to see how great Oscar and Jaime were together. To me Steve was just another guest who showed up from time to time and he certainly didn't have the same chemistry with Jaime as she had with Oscar.

In the SMDM episodes of The Bionic Woman - I thought they seemed like a better couple - though STILL not as good as I thought he seemed with Farrah in her episodes - THEY still had more chemistry together. But I agree with Lola, once she had her own show, Steve was just a guest star, and though they had a few moments together - they were just visual to me - they kissed or hugged, but there just wasn't anything THERE.

Maybe S & J seemed to have less chemistry after the initial two shows because Jaime had amnesia - and so LW acted her part as though she no longer felt quite the same spark.

They seemed to be pretty comfy in Kill Oscar, and they had some nice scenes in that episode. The funny thing is that they set Jaime up early as being quite willing to make a new start with Steve, but he never seemed to be around to make a new start with.

Honestly, I think it was that contract problem more than anything.

I don't think it was JUST that. I think the contract problem led to the lack of on screen chemistry in the few episodes they WERE together, but once she had her own show, there was no WAY they were tying Steve AND Jaime up with being unable to date on their respective shows. Maybe that's why she never got together with Oscar - they only flirted - because HE was there all the time and then she STILL couldn't date. I'd have just been happy with a little more flirting :)

Yeah, but I wouldn't be surprised if the network initially had bigger plans for Steve and Jaime subplots that were stymied by Lee's lack of cooperation. As long as it was kept casual, he could still go back to his show and be a ladykiller. It would have been good cross promotion. Then I think they gave up on that and had Jaime do her own thing.

I find it significant that though Jaime asks Oscar about Steve on her show, Steve never asked about Jaime on his!

That's because she feels guilty for not being able to love him, and he's been busy moving on with other ladies. 3weazh 3weazh

Or because Kenny J wrote for BW and not for SMDM.

But even if he had...it doesn't suit Steve (the SMDM Steve) to be pining after Jaime too much. Since that show was written for guys, and guys love seeing conquest of a different chick every episode, Steve kind of had to follow that path...to remain the true studly guy he always had been and to keep the fellas happy!

Women like the pining thing, I think, but they weren't playing to women.

It would've been nice if Steve could've at least asked about her occasionally - especially since Oscar told Jaime "He always asks about you...."!
