Lately Andrea posted some pictures of Lindsay over on OBW (thanks Andrea) and I stole this one (hope you don't mind!) because Lindsay's mom looks almost EXACTLY as I pictured Rudy's wife Louise would look when I invented her. That's an odd coincidence!

Wow! I've never seen a picture of her mom before.

I used Lynda as Rudy's wife - I think because I stole the name from BW. I thought he DID have a wife, and that her name WAS Lynda - but it was just B4E's wonderful stories :) Anyway, I guess I pictured her a little differently - younger and with darker hair.

You must be thinking of Lynda, Rudy's assistant in the Kill Oscar series. I always thought she was too gorgeous and regal looking for Rudy's wife. I imagine him having someone more comfy in his life. I'm not necessarily thinking of her at Lindsay's mom's age... in this picture she would be substantially older than the Rudy of the TV series (though of course...what's wrong with that?!). It's just the general kind of woman that fits the bill for the character I wrote.

Oh, I remember Rudy's assistant. I think her name stuck in my mind as his wife's name - probably because B4E used it :) I do think she was a factor in her being dark haired, but still, I always think of his wife as some sort of scientist too, and she has sort of poofy, dark hair. She's got a sense of humor, loves him to pieces, and is every bit as brilliant as he is - in her own field of course.

OJ: according to 'Cyborg' the book by Martin Cadin that inspired the series Rudy is married. I believe her name was Jackie...At least at one point he says to Steve. (when he wants to back out of the project) " At leas you'll make a happy woman...I haven't been a husband to her for months..."

Do you mean "a woman happy?" :) Thanks - that's an interesting tidbit. I always thought Rudy should be married.

Hello Beth ...

...and other readers/writers of course but today I direct question at Beth because I was reading again some of your stories on fanfiction.net site (like "The Boss") in which there is somebody called Jim who is working at OSI and I wonder who is this Jim?

Jim Elgin? No of course, he doesn't work for OSI! :D
Jim Goldman? The stories seem to take place in last 70's, so it's not possible . ?><
Jim Castillian? Won't he be too young? If not it's interesting me because I would like to introduce him as a newbie in a future fanfiction (and may be Russ could be jaelous of him.. 3weazh ..).
Another Jim? 85htrs

Hi, Bionika,
Yes, that was a huge mistake on my part. I inserted a 'Jim' into the story, having Jim Castillian in mind, and not even considering the age/time factor. Used him in several stories but haven't used him at all since I realized what I had done. Now I just use Russ instead. :)

But you could do anything you want with characters. That's the fun of fanfiction. Someone once told me I could even make them circus performers if I wanted to...so for one story (and a sequel later), I did! If you have a good idea for a Russ/Jim rivalry, go for it! It sounds really interesting! yide

I remember wondering if some of the characters were made up as well. I'm pretty sure when I used Lynda for the first time I was thinking she was Rudy's girlfriend rather than secretary, but I think I took it from one of Beth's stories, not realizing she was made up.

But...Lynda wasn't made up! She was Rudy's secretary in Kill Oscar. Or are you saying she was a made-up girlfriend?

Jaime has been sent on assignement as a woman wrestler, so the assigment on a circus was very believable. yide

I enjoyed "Tightrope" and "Command Performance". They are very good stories. I like your choice to have made Jaime a tightrope walker among all jobs possible in a circus. I like too when you describe her fear to be in a harness ,like when she had jumped in parachute.

If you have a good idea for a Russ/Jim rivalry, go for it!  It sounds really interesting!

I had already wrote a draft in French introducing Jim Castillian so I went on Bionic Wiki for more information.
As Lee majors II was born in 1962, Jim Castillian would have been only 16 in 1978. Ooups, really too young for a newbie ! MOMMEE
I'll have to rework a little the draft and introduce him perhaps as a trainee in Rudy's lab ... a trainee supposed to sort files but who wants to be on the field (and it will annoy Russ...).

I didn't exactly make her up. I just expanded her role a little bit. :D

Thank you, Bionika. You are very sweet. (And thanks to Neesie Pie for the original suggestion - even if she was only kidding when she said it!)
