Welcome to Starborn Realms! Currently, we are not open! However, do feel free to come in and take a look at what we have so far, with no obligation. What we have here is a Fantasy setting in which there is a whole world full of Magic, Alchemy, Monsters, Gods, and opportunity for discovery and invention! We are starting with a primal idea with which we will allow player-created content such as new monsters and types of magic, and even inventing things as an Artificer, or being part of an exploration team discovering new life on unexplored islands! There is a whole world that we need help discovering and you can be a part of it! Just bring your imagination! -Staff |

The Commandments of Korian Obey Them or Be Exiled I. Thou Shalt Not GodMod Seriously, this is the number one thing on most boards. It's so popular that it's really almost self-explanatory, but we all know that if it wasn't on this list then people would jump at the chance to abuse power and just...no. We're not having it, nobody wants to deal with it anywhere, simply because nobody has time for it. We are here to have fun, and that fun involves the freedom to do what you want, but taking that freedom away from others is where your own freedom ends. II. Thou Shalt Have No More Than Five Characters Easy enough. If you really think you need more because you don't have enough to do, then please feel free to ask for permission to make more characters, but keep your characters active and doing things. If things seem boring for a character, don't make another one to fill the gap of activity. Create some dynamism with someone else's character and develop your character further. This is a community, and we've created a pretty big world, so don't go populating it with empty shells of characters because the world already has plenty of NPCs to use. III. Thou Shalt Respect The Board Owners Not a big deal. Eriadne and I are really just a couple of roleplaying, writing nerds like you who decided to make our own place. However, this is our board. Please, respect it, and us, while you are here, because in a world of roleplayers and writers, this is our house. If you are to be our guest, then we would only ask that you be respectful, not just to us and our board, but to other members. Be yourself, but act as though you might be the guest in someone else's living room. IV. Thou Shalt Be Literate There should never be any chatspeak or 1337speak, though I am aware most of that is uncommon among writers and roleplayers anyway. This in mind, also be aware that while we do not expect you to have a certain word or line count per post, we always encourage progress in ability. We will welcome you into our world whether you do short posts of a paragraph or two, or even if you prefer longer styles, opening up threads with a page or two to really get things started. However, whatever level you might be at, we all know there is always room to improve, and equally, we understand that there are times when giant blocks of text are appropriate, and when they are not. V. Thou Shalt Alert Others of Absence We do not expect you to be here all the time. If there is a minimum that you must post, we ask that you post at least once a week if you are involved in a thread with someone else. If you do not feel as though you can keep up with several threads then do not join several threads. If you are going to be leaving somewhere where you will not be able to post for a week or more, please tell us that you will be gone via the 'Away' Thread or at least notify those you are posting with so that they do not needlessly check a thread. VI. Thou Shalt Recognize The Rating of This Board This is a 'PG-13' rated board. This means that we will not be allowing explicit sexual detail. We simply cannot know the age of our players and therefore cannot allow sexual content to be described in detail when minors could be involved. It is not just for our safety, but you own. If you want to roleplay a sexual scene between your character and another, do it privately, or make the thread tasteful and either fade-to-black or be creative enough to avoid explicit details. By creating a character here you agree to this and any issues will be met with us seeing you to the door. VII. Thou Shalt Understand That Copyright Infringement is Totally Bogus Seriously. We have our own small copyright declaration and because we ask that it be respected, we respect the copyrights of others, and that means that we don't want people here that disrespect copyright infringement on any level. Just don't do it. Just dont. VIII. Thou Shalt Keep Fun in Mind That's why we are all here, so when you are making a character, talking to someone else, or working on a plot for your character, just keep the fact that we're all here to have fun in the back of your mind. Get caught up in the moment of having fun and find a way to channel even the negative emotions you might be feeling because of real-life stresses into intense dynamic scenes or ones where you vent and express pure emotion. This is what makes us writers, do not squander this gift. Much of our best work is written when irritated or depressed. Please keep OOC and IC separate, however, there is never reason to look at someone differently because of their character. |
