Yes, it's stupid. Yes, give me a game over screen for it. But dont leave me frustrated when Eli is trying to kill you and MB staff and he's not even really punished for that. Talking about game over screen. I was trying to kill as few people as possible and I didnt try to kill african kids on the field. Can I kill them or is it game over? I really hope its not the latter. I stopped exploring MB, too big distances between platforms, helicopter is sightseeing instead of bringing me to the destination, stairs make no sense. I hate that Paz is optional thing, I thought she would be implemented in the story. I had to actually google where the fuck she is. And I dont really feel like grinding those sideops, theyre all the same and i spend more time on helicopter / traveling than actually doing side ops. Edited by Big Paws, Sep 17 2015, 02:21 AM.

If you kill one of the kids, regardless if he's shooting at you, it results in a mission failure. Also, this game grants you a shit ton of freedom. My R&D team is now a level 56, I have a lot of toys to play with. I can say with completely honesty that I haven't talked a single mission the same way more than one time. I always change up my loadout, how I approach each sector. Use my hand of Jehuty to grab enemies from afar. Use stun decoys, manipulate the weather, call in a vehicle to land on top of a soldier to kill him to complete a side op just for the hell of it. Always customizing my weapons in different ways. I have a fucking revolver with a 3 zoom sniper scope on it. Sometimes, I like to tranq snipe whole outpost. I use 50cal sniper to kill heavy infantry soldiers because it shoots through helmets, armor, walls, crates. I've graded my tranq sniper to the point where it penetrates glass. I've taken out an enemy helicopter by tranq sniping the pilot and then he crashes and it doesn't count as a kill for me. I've yet to feel limited by this game and what I can do with each mission. |

Yeah, if this game allowed you to kill children, it would have never hit the shelves. |

You know theres a fast travel system on MB right? I mean, that sounds like a "you" problem. The side-ops aren't difficult and are rewarding because I've found the majority of my S++ soldiers through side-ops. Also, side-ops let you experiment with guns and loadouts because there isn't a grade for side-ops, only completion. Long story short, Paws. You get what you put into this game. Don't feel like grinding, then you won't get rewarded. If only you could see the amount of stuff I have and can play with. Damn near rank 6 on all my gadgets and weapons. Also, the wandering mother base soldiers side-ops aren't hard. There's only 10. Like I said, that's a "you" problem because they take about 5 min each. Also, if you've explored each map enough, you'd find out there's fast travel system within Africa and Afghanistan. It's the cardboard delivery system, the same one on mother base. You find an "invoice" on each major location on each map, and it allows you to travel across the map in seconds. Allowing you to pump out side ops without ever going back to your helicopter. Like I said, if you don't put in the time to look and explore for these hidden features, then you won't get rewarded. It's that simple. You get what you put in. I kinda feel limited though, but it's probably because as I said im mostly a PC player, played only exclusives on consoles for my entire life and MGS V is damn easy for me. If im not stealthy I can finish the mission in 5 minutes just doing a bloodbath at camps and outposts. Thats why i'd love to have an option to replay the missions in substitance (I doubt im spelling it right lol) mode. There were only 2 missions like that and besides few main story missions I enjoyed those the most. I needed planning, needed to hide a lot, it was fun. Which brings me to another complaint. Autoregenerating health. If not for that game would be harder and I wouldnt exploit it. Rush in like an idiot, kill as much as possible, back to cover, regenerate, repeat. Autohealth regen is the worst thing that happened in video games. For me kid with a weapon is no longer a kid. But this I can understand. Altough I dont agree with it, human being is a human being, we slaughter billions of adults in video games and suddenly killing a child is bad. Yea, I they discovered that there is a fast travel system on MB. But i dont really need to explore MB, nothing to see there. After mission 15~~ i also stopped exploring the game world. When every outpost was the same and I would come back to those places in sideops, another missions I ddidnt really feel like exploring. It not just "me" problem, it is partially, the game doesnt encourage you to do that enough. Edited by Big Paws, Sep 17 2015, 02:34 AM.

But, that's why I restart missions if I get caught. Yes, you can clear a mission quickly by going guns blazing, but that's no where near as rewarding. I leave the bloodbaths for side-ops when i feel like experimenting with certain weapons. Please see my previous post. This game has two fast travel systems that no one seems to try and look for. One on mother base, cardboard delivery. Takes you to any platform in seconds. This same fast travel system is also located in Afghanistan and Africa. It's a hidden feature. There are orange platforms located at every major location within each map. Grab the invoice attached to these platforms. It allows to jump across these maps in SECONDS. Allowing you to explore, pump out side ops, and not have to return to your ACC after like 6 missions. |

I feel like you're wearing the chicken hat. Also, you die so much faster with auto regening health. I remember playing MGS3 and after some health training on Extreme difficulty [critically wounding yourself and healing], you can tank a shotgun to the face and get up like it's nothing. But, there's so many ways to get one hit killed in this game [shotgun, tanks, and godforbid you get spotted by a helicopter while you aren't equipped with a rocket launcher], and meeting enemies head on is flat out stupid [and as Solid pointed out, unrewarding], so I don't mind the auto regen. I think it benefits the open world, actually. And I am going to disagree with your view on killing children. I'm going to greatly disagree with that. ...What the hell? Bro, you didn't read what I also said. You've complained about the helicopter time. There is a fast travel system for both of the main maps in this game. It's the same cardboard delivery system. Jumping across the map in seconds. So if you're tired of running around, this solves this. But it's a hidden feature that you have to go out and find for yourself. I feel like you're picking and choosing what you want to read. It's fucking annoying dude. Also...it's bad to kill kids because they're minors? Minors forced to become soldiers or else they'd be killed? It's still a problem in today's world and is a sickening topic. Dude, what is your deal with killing kids. You've said this shit more than once. Yeah, it's a "you" problem. The further you progress in this game, those same outposts get filled with higher ranking soldiers. What used to be D rank people, are now all A++'s with 2 S ranks on them as well. Like I said, but pumping out side-ops, you're rewarded with more frequent high ranked soldiers. Which upgrade your staff greatly. It's a "you" problem because you don't feel like it. Because these higher ranked soldiers are the encouragement you're speaking of. I've said it once, I'll say it again. YOU GET ONLY WHAT YOU PUT INTO THIS GAME. There is a grind, if you don't like it, too bad. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 17 2015, 02:48 AM.

![]() ![]() I'm sorry. This game should have had more boss fights. More, and better boss fights. That said, loved the Skulls encounter in the airport, loved sneaking past those damn skull snipers, loved the Quiet fight, and ESPECIALLY loved fighting Sahelanthropus. Sorry if it seems like I'm getting on people's cases. These "complaints" aren't completely justified because most of these complaints are shot down by features that are in this game. People complain about having to ride D-Horse too much or in the chopper to get to another mission. Sorry, that doesn't work. There is a fast travel system on both main maps, that if you put in the time to find these "invoices", you can fast travel virtually everywhere, allowing you to pump out missions for hours without going back to your ACC. These "complaints" are only happening because people aren't putting in the time to find these extra features that help make the game more fun and flow better. I'm not even going to touch the "killing kids" subject again. If you can't see what's wrong with that, then there is no discussion to be had. The missions can be beaten in 5-10 min, but that's if you want to go guns blazing. It's a choice. It's a part of the freedom you're given. You don't have to do that. You can restart the mission if you want to remain stealthy. It's a fucking choice, for christ sake. If you don't feel like doing the side-ops to unlock Paz's story, that's again, your problem. They don't take long, there's only 10. And her optional story is pretty neat when you discover what her story represents. She's an embodiment of your PTSD and your subconscious's denial to the fact that you couldn't save her back in GZ. You're holding on to her phantom. This isn't like past MGS games. Kojima stated way before this game that this is a new MGS. Different than anything he's done. The story is just given to us on a silver spoon like the past. There are certain cutscenes and story elements and tapes, that you won't get to hear or see if you don't put in the time to do it. ONCE AGAIN, YOU GET WHAT YOU PUT IN. I'm done ranting about it, honestly. I'm not going to try and defend certain parts to this game that has features that ultimately make certain issues/complaints irrelevant. If you put in the time, you're heavily rewarded in TPP. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 17 2015, 03:05 AM.

Please give your input when you can. I just have so much shit unlocked in this game, and it's stupid how much it's changed the way I play this game. It's constantly adapting to how I play. So all these gadgets and crazy weapons have added so many new elements. I'm not even reaching trying to defend this game. I'm not making up points to defend it's gameplay. What I've posted are literally features in the game that fix these complaints. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 17 2015, 03:13 AM.

Well, I'm talking up storm because you can't criticize parts of a game that has features that counter against most of what he's been complaining about. In terms of killing everyone and clearing missions fast, nobody is forcing you to do that. It's not the only option. The game rewards you for being stealthy, but gives you the ability to escape and kill off many enemies if need be, which is part of the freedom of the game. How does one not see that? |

I agree with everything you've said, Solid. I've also rarely touched D-Horse, but if people complain about having to ride him, they really shouldn't play any open world game ever again. Seriously. While Phantom Pain is not perfect, it has it's problems, a lot of these complaints are just downright stupid. |

Let's not get it twisted, MGSV has PLENTY of faults. It's not perfect at all. I hate how you cant climb on certain things, that are short obstacles but can climb on obstacles much higher, just for example. I'm just getting frustrated because Paw's complaints in particular are full of holes because everything he's complained about, MGSV has a feature that fixes that. He's already complained about this game being open world and not linear like past MGS games. He clearly has an issue with MGS being open world. An open world that you can FAST TRAVEL in.
