I wanted to participate but damn, 3 pages of things and when I took a peek here it's half insults, half logical arguments I am not sure I want to dig into this. I just hope I am not one of those 2 elitist shitheads :(. So to change the topic a little - it's been over a week and I finally got over the fact that I won't have quiet in my party ever again. At least I have her in the brig :). It's funny, so far it was only books and movies that left me with a feeling that lasted for more than a few hours. Anyhow, not sure if anyone posted this, a fan comic with fan ending: http://kotaku.com/metal-gear-solid-v-fans-comic-ending-is-better-than-the-1731050259 Frankly, I liked the ending from the beginning and the more I read about how people smarter than me analyzed it the more I liked it. Now this comic, while very neatly drawn, feels to me like a typical drama-anime ending. Suddenly everyone cares for everybody, and Venom gets laid... I mean is visited by Quiet who loved him all the time. Eh, maybe I grew up to be a tiny bit too cynical for things like that. It works for a game for teens or late teens, not for a game for adults. Also I grew up to like endings, games and media which do not explain everything. But that's just my opinion. Now this made me think, because someone also complained about how Quiet first wants to kill Big Boss (in the hospital and in the ruins) and then suddenly she just comes with him. Her motivations are completely unknown, she's like a black box for us. Yet at the same time we learn that she, somehow, cares for Venom. Can love bloom on the battlefield? Was that even "true love" as someone could say? She cares enough to sacrifice her own life for his, but is this because of romantic feeling, or does she do that because she feels he is important? Did anyone analyze it yet?

People with compulsive lying tendencies tend to tell believable, or at least realistic, lies. I also think it's somehow connected to his stalking of Strangelove in PW.

I hate the guy for what he did and his lies. But at the same time I felt sorry for him, while being tortured and especially when he was exiled from Mother Base :(... "Snake you should be on this boat!" "Am I the only one sane here?!" His time with Skull Face might have changed him. Everyone change in such a long time somehow and how depending on what happen to you. Meeting Huey at the warehouse was funny when had to rescue him, but I always though Snake put the bag on his head while being interrogated with Kaz and Ocelot. The trailer fooled me. Sarcasm aside, Otacon's one of my favorite Metal Gear characters. Would be my favorite, if Raiden hadn't been redesigned for MGS4. [I also liked Raiden in MGS2. I'm aware I'm alone there.]

I don't really think I ever hated him, from the design perspective he is a really well made persona, and from the fun factor I don't think I was ever one to get too attached to characters. I feel like I am alone with liking Johny and the proposal scene :P.

After being taken into Arsenal Gear, Raiden really starts to become his own character and separate from "us" the players because he represents us and then starts to become his own.
