don't worry Sina it usually is peaceful :), but you know with new members the atmosphere can change.Battle suit ftw! And "peaceful situations of MGI's comment section", this is not true. There are a lot of arguments like here on the MGI articles. Some of them I have to delete. But most of the time yeah both sides are peaceful. Even though I and many have said MGI to be the best MG community, it's still not perfect imo. Edited by Gatsu, Sep 18 2015, 12:48 PM.

Jesus fucking Christ. New members, you had been warned initially that this forum doesn't tolerate this whiny, victimized behavior. You act like a child, you get treated as such. We have no place for that on here. Don't want to discuss like an adult, okay, then this place isn't for you. Think what you want, but if you're ever going to try and belittle someone because of their online avatar, you can go fuck off. That is the most childish thing I've seen on here. Also, most of the new members have gotten the vibe here and have meshed well with it. If you're not liking it here, it's absolutely no sweat off my back. This is a community that's been going on for 9 years that dates back further than the existence of MGI. And Leguy, not sure what the fuck your problem is. If you go back and read everything that dude was saying and can't see immaturity in his actions, that's your own problem. If you're going to try act like you're above anyone in society, you're already a douche. Then if you're going to act like you're above someone because of someone else's avatar, then fuck you. His avatar will remain that way to set an example. Your opinion isn't going to change anything. I have warned everyone so many times that this forum isn't like a lot forums. We are extremely sarcastic, full of dry humor, and we like to discuss like adults. If you say anything remotely stupid and out of place without any justification, you're going to get called out on it. /rant. Everything on here can be peaceful, as long as you don't act like a complete fool. Unfortunately, there have been a few in a short amount of time. I've come to learn that people on the internet are just too damn sensitive. People can't stand to have their opinions confronted. Which is just absurd. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 18 2015, 01:53 PM.

This shit is making my brain hurt. I have pressed my hands to my face more than I care to count during these last few days on this thread. I just knew when we got a bunch of new members that there would be some extremely bad apples. Thankfully the majority of you guys get the mentality around here. Not sure if you guys are a fan of Dan Dawkins, but he released his 2nd and final review of MGSV. A little biased, but still pretty good. Yong also released his review, not going to watch it. Can't stand him. MGS can do no wrong in that dude's eyes. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 18 2015, 07:25 PM.

Not familiar with Dan, Solid. But I watched part of Yong's review and it was good imo :). He originally planned to give it 10/10, but the score was 9.7/10 despite that he said it was a masterpiece and encourage everyone to play it. I wish everyone could just enjoy all MGSV have to give us instead of complain of some missing content etc. The game is a masterpiece imo and I love that Kojima has done every Metal Gear game differently. That's why they all feel so fresh too, always something new to show me. |

I watched it, a lot of people disliked his video for some reason, he didn't give it a 10 so I assume that's why people are mad? He does point out the game's flaws, though if you watched the first half of his review it's all praising and over the top positive. Honestly I'm glad he didnt choose to ignore these issues like most of the reivewers did. but I think he still caved out when it came to the score giving it a 9.7 Eitherways I like the guy, I don't get why you don't stand him, he's doing a fine job when it comes to the game's news. (though he did spoil a lot of crap before the game came out like it was nothing) Edited by iExPreZz, Sep 18 2015, 04:26 PM.

Just read through those comments. I can't talk about this dude anymore. He's an idiot. Plain and simple. It's over and done with. If he wants to continue to cry about it like a child, let him. He's just making himself look worse and ultimately justifying why we banned him.

I haven't watched all his videos, but the codec call interviews are nice. Won't be seeing leguy(IM2PAC) on MGI articles unless he create a new user again. I've warned him few times how to comment and can't stand such behaviour/insults for no reason. Edited by Gatsu, Sep 18 2015, 07:36 PM.

I feel like part of the hostility in this forum was my fault. This isn't to say, from the looks of it, it would have not happened eventually. I digress. How about we talk about how everyone felt about the parasites and Code Talker next? I thought that Code Talker was a cool character, albeit being a bit boring sometimes and his idea that parasites gave humans speech is utterly ridiculous (I imagine that's some delusion he thought up), but I like him. The entire parasite arc is my favorite arc in the game, especially it's successor, Mission 43. To be honest, it took me until that tongue thing with Quiet to figure out what was spreading it. Side note: I didn't like how there weren't many unique Mother Base staff members in this game. We get Ocelot, Miller, Code Talker, Huey being held hostage, Quiet in her cell (who doesn't contribute to cassette tapes, for obvious reasons), and that's it. One thing I loved about Peace Walker was the colorful unique staff members you added to Mother Base as the story went on. Strangelove, Cecile, Chico, Huey, etc. Not complaining. Just doesn't feel as lively, I guess. And you always hear Miller, Ocelot, and Code Talker speaking in the cassette tapes with no one else besides a few words from Venom. But I guess that's similar to complaining that Rose and Otacon are your only two codec contacts in MGS4, which I didn't mind at all. Edited by Raskalov, Sep 18 2015, 07:53 PM.

I loved the parasites in TPP and enjoyed listening, when Code Talker talked about the subject. It was something new to the games and brought some new threat besides Nukes. By the way, we saw Quiet ending but anyone wondering what happens to DD in story <(T_T)> ? P.S. Raska you mentioning Chico, made me think that it was sad we didn't get to know more about him in TPP ;(...poor Chico. They said he just died in the chopper, but what the hell was that earplugs-into-chest thing in GZ? Some Skull Face's early experiment on project Skulls? Edited by Gatsu, Sep 18 2015, 08:04 PM.

I imagine DD works with Big Boss until he gets too old, and eventually dies of old age. I want to know what happens to D-Horse and D-Walker in their stories. Such emotional characters. ...Shit, you might be onto something. Come to think of it, he never spoke a word of Spanish in that game. I never gave serious thought into the earplugs before. |

Don't worry it's great here, what you are seeing is the one thread is which a lot of new members are jumping on too, and as such you end up with a whole bunch of total retards whom can't actually hold a normal conversation. I'm glad it's done and over with, lol, I didn't want this thread to degrade into the "new member filter" thread, lol, being back on topic feels great. Also, it is actually better here than in MGI, MGI is a little too unfiltered and we have all sorts of hostile idiots running around, which are kept in check by the rules and ideas of the community, but those people never show there faces because things like banning someone for being childish doesn't really happen, and when that does happen others will come out and do the same thing, thus starts a chain reaction of banning of people whom should not have joined, lol. MGI isn't a bad place (as evidence as the fact it is one of the only two places on the internet you will find me) it just isn't as strict or as straight forward as the Cardboard Box, it tends to bend itself too much in complexity, BUT that is completely necessary, MGI could never be run like this forum as it is a news site and not a forum, and as such you doesn't really have a filter just a mentality we try to keep, and as such we let people spin their convenient half truths and clutter everything up with unnecessary "opinions" , In the end both places are run at the best they possibly could ![]() Now to get back on topic, lol. I personally disliked the whole parasites thing in TPP, it is without a doubt the "nanomachines" of TPP, why do we need an explanation? lol, only for MGS4 and TPP did Kojima feel the need to excessively explain things, and those are the games I hate, lol. Also the parasites would have worked better if they actually explained the Skull abilities instead of feeling like a simple excuse, a blanket cover when we don't need one, like seriously how do parasites make the Skulls pick up pieces of earth and telekinetically throw them at you? And that is just one thing that isn't explained by the whole parasite thing, and because it doesn't actually explain the abilities of those it is supposed to it simply comes off as an excuse instead of a reason, and honestly again, we don't need a reason, the first 3 MGS games didn't have reasons for the abilities of the bosses, and those games are amazing in story and gameplay. All that being said the parasite virus is a cool idea and plays into the themes of the game, but as a tool of explanation and giving everyone absurd abilities it is severely lacking, they should have let the whole parasite business end with the parasite virus infection thing. I never cared for explaining the bosses in MGS either, but the nanomachines gave us the MGS4 Vamp fight, so I give it a pass. Plus I loved MGS4's story overall. I do agree that the games shouldn't feel the need to explain the powers -- I sure as hell wasn't confused when Psycho Mantis was using psychokinesis or when The Pain summoned hornets. And the game did focus on those parasites a little too much, if you ask me, but I didn't really care. Still don't actually. Part of me still thinks that half of what Code Talker says is untrue anyways. He never seemed to be in his right mind, at least to me. |
