To be fair, TPP was an honest attempt to be a great game, also TPP has amazing gameplay, where as MGS4 has a horrible story and horrible gameplay, ugh. |

Old Snake was Kojima embodied in the game. An old man, sick and tired of the way things are. Beaten down, used, and wanting to "Leave the world be". Despite my hate for MGS4. There's still a lot of good about the game. Fantastic visuals, cinematography, weapon system, music, and some strong scenes in the game. Unfortunately, there are way more drawn out, corny, unnecessary moments than there has to be. People fail to see that MGS4 was a big fuck you to a lot of people. Because people demanded answers, he tried to close every hole. Many of these answers completely under minded everything that MGS2 was about. Kojima didn't want to make MGS4. It was evident Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 12:07 AM.

In fact, every game after MGS3 had story issues. In MGS4 and V we can see how Kojima's standards in storytelling dropped. He applied some sexy girls in both games for no reason, lol.I was like:"You're kidding,Kojima, right?!" |

Fair enough, I adore PW more for it's themes and layered massages. It is a different kind of MGS game as well. I think MGS3 is my favorite but MGS2 is the best written, lol.

And you know why his storytelling has gotten worse right? Besides PW. He put a lot of passion into PW. Good game through and through. Kojima has been trying to end MGS ever since MGS2. He's been done with it for a while. But the fans are NEVER satisfied and demanded answers. People were outraged from MGS2. So he made MGS3. A whole new story, setting, and characters with a young BB. But still, MGS2's ending still wasn't explained(it's not supposed to be), insert MGS4. A total mess. Peace Walker was actually first called MGS5 during development, but that was changed before release. He had a lot of passion for PW. And he still put a lot of work into TPP in its gameplay and it's performance. I'm sure the writing suffered because he's been beating a dead horse for some time when it comes to the MGS saga's narrative |

PW really tried to pull away from MGS as well with a different game style, and new characters. At least Kojima is now free from the title of MGS. He needs to think more about the game he is making and less about the series, lol. |

I'm happy for him. He can finally be done. And honestly, ending the series with an ambiguous ending is awesome. It doesn't give answers and cater to those who need to be spoon fed a black and white ending. MGS2 was supposed to be the end and it had an ambiguous ending. You can tell he's been wanting to end the series with a game that leaves questions and leaves things for interpretation. Good for him. He can move on and so can we (or at least some of us because some people are incapable of thinking for themselves and must have closure) |

Yeah,PW is a good game overall. It borrowed a lot of things from MGS3 storywise, but in the end it can stand on its feet. The only complaint that I have about PW is the lack of human boss fights, which MGS3 was good at it.And that lack of human bosses gives us a lot of AI and mech fights, which is really annoying imo, lol. What bums me out is Kojima doesn't hold the rights to Fox Engine, it's stuck in dead, cold hands of Konami. :/ |

But PW was awesome. It tried something completely different and it excelled. A completely new approach and was the original MGS5. PW is why TPP is even good. It took everything that was great about PW and perfected it. (Its gameplay) Considering how close PW/GZ/TPP are in terms of years in the timeline, I like to think about it as one big experience and story. Credit to Baldgye with that view of it. What's even worse about that is that Fox Engine supervisor who helped out a lot with GZ/TPP left Konami. So it's now truly in Konami's awful hands. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 12:29 AM.
