Yeah, that's what I meant. There's truly no safe spot for that engine now, and now that Konami says they are halting progression on all AAA titles except PES, it's just gonna rot. |

In a post from MGI today a customer service response from Konami indicated that AAA games are still in development, including Metal Gear. |

Well yeah, just thought it was weird that they would even respond to something like that in a customer service email in the first place. Maybe they think a Metal Gear pachinko machine is a AAA title, who knows. |

Also, they are still technically working on MGO... Few thoughts: - mission 51 isn't coming as dlc, it's too big to make in a few months and even if it wasn't they wouldn't show it as unfinished in the doc that came with the CE - there won't be any mission dlc that relates to story, it will be costumes and shit - Kojima will probably go to a big publisher of some kind (I'm personally betting Nintendo) and his games will look great regardless - non of his previous games need remaking in FOX as they are all perfect as they are with the exception being MGS4's not great frame-rate |

I know right! I really wanted more of that engine, it is amazing and makes multi platform games not hindered by the lowest common denominator by a huge margin. But now I don't think will we ever see much of it ever again ![]() Honestly it sounds like an employee not knowing what they are talking about, lol, at best it will not be AAA games but simpler games. Also Konami just cancelled their most recent Silent Hill game, and they don't even care about the rest, and we are supposed to believe this random Konami guy? LOL, I doubt he even knows what is going on at the company, sounds like he isn't informed. Edited by No Place For Hayter, Sep 23 2015, 12:59 AM.

It is a shame. Such a fantastic engine. It's stable as hell and performs excellently. The framerate, photo realistic imaging. Plus, the optimization and compression is fantastic. Would've killed to see other games use it. Quite possibly. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 01:00 AM.

I think anyone with brains would agree with these ideas. Unless the content for the DLC was part of the original game and purposely withheld, knowing players would cry "incomplete!" so they could basically guarantee people would buy it. Which would be a HIGHLY unlikely but douchey move. |

Also, want to make it clear to others about MGS4. Fuck that game, for what it does to MGS2 and the overabundance of fan service. The game is still a good game. Better than a lot of games, just think it's a weaker MGS title. It has great graphics (besides some awful texture issues, but it has some great physics, character animation), amazing camera-work and cinematography, music, and some captivating scenes. The initial return to the Shadow Moses heliport and "The Best is Yet To Come" playing as I explored through was a really great moment for me and definitely a highlight for MGS4. The hallway scene was also really well done. I don't want people to think that I think MGS4 absolutely sucks, because it doesn't. It's still fun to play and has some really emotional scenes. I just have a huge love/hate relationship with it because it's story is just all over the place. Good in some part and then god awful in others. Especially towards the end. I just hate what MGS4 did to MGS2, like seriously, fuck that. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 01:11 AM.

There we go, that's better. I agree with you Gye, all the MGS games are perfect as they are. But still, MGS3 in the fox engine just gets my dick hard thinking about that. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 01:13 AM.

I haven't taken my mine off since I first got it. Looks too cool.I read your analysis by the way. Just so you know, you CAN choose your team who goes out on combat deployment. I also have to point out that you're complaining about things you can counter. The game is adaptive to your playstyle for a reason. You can counter shotguns by playing from a distance. If they're wearing helmets, start using decoys, smoke grenades or stun grenades so you can CQC them. Use you bionic arms advantages. The hand of jehuty, rocket arm. It counters the shotgun. If you're sneaking at night too much, start sneaking at day. There is ALWAYS a way to counter how they adapt to your play style. It encourages you to try other methods and make you a better player ultimately. You have these endless amount of weapons and gadgets for a reason. The game makes you get creative. Just because it frustrates you doesn't mean it's bad game design. Your resources part was false as well. It takes an average of 20-40 min every time. The only missions that take over an hour in combat deployment are the missions that give you over 700,000 GMP, with a chance of S rank soldiers. Honestly, I disagreed with mostly everything you complained about, gameplay wise. Many issues of yours that I found to be personal complaints that will vary from player to player. You seem to have a deep hate for the game, and from what I've read caused you to call out issues with the game that some of which weren't true or you didn't discover how to properly utilize. I have nothing to say about your critique on the narrative because everyone will take that differently. I don't see the point of complaining about reflex mode when it's purely optional. The game did have a lack of story, pacing issues, progress halted by FOB's which is so stupid. Putting spoilers in the opening credits for each mission is also a disappointment. But hey, you didn't like MGSV. That's fine. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 03:02 AM.

I will also point out that you said that PTSD wasn't hardly mentioned. Please know that the whole thing with Paz was your PTSD as the medic. She was an embodiment of Snake's PTSD. His subconscious created a false memory in order to mask the guilt that you never found the second bomb. @NP4H I shouldn't say that your issues are more personal complaints. I think what I meant to say is that your complaints were really exaggerated. Like some wait times were definitely exaggerated. You made your issues with the game sound like they're absolutely awful and unbearable when most those complaints will vary from person to person. Referring to the adaptive enemies. MGS players who aren't that creative will be halted by the adaptive AI and find it difficult. Really created players won't have trouble with that. This is what I mean by some of your complaints will only apply to certain people and it will vary depending on who you're asking. But hey man, it's how you felt about the game. You didn't like it and that's how it is. Edited by SolidLiquid, Sep 23 2015, 03:01 AM.
