Anyway, I'm rambling again. There are just so many hints that you're not playing as Big Boss throughout the game.
Hm... I think you are right. Many things he does seem out of character for the person he was in and after PW. The Paz thing. The relationship with Quiet. The way he disposed of Huey. The ashes scene. Damn, the foreshadowing was strong but I was just blind! It's like a missing piece which makes the puzzle work!

I'm not going to ramble out how good or bad the narrative is. I believe there are some really good parts and also really bad parts. The pacing could've been better and whatnot. Again, I say this game will have the MGS2 effect. At first, it's going to get bashed to hell. Let's not act like people didn't bash MGS2's story for a long time before everyone understood it and why it came out to be the way it was. It's now held in high regard.

Now, am I saying MGSV is on MGS2's level in terms of story? Absolutely not, but I believe there are elements to the story that aren't getting enough credit. The constant correlation between Moby Dick and 1984 is really damn cool. And as you just realized, the constant foreshadowing this game does is pretty awesome if you're aware of it.

As time goes by, people will learn to appreciate MGSV's story more. It's going to happen. Just as it did with MGS2.

Well Mother Base looking so fucking sexy on the Fox Engine just confirms that the Big Shell would be absolutely stunning. God MGS2 would just be a beaut to look at.

Amen that. I liked the story and share the sentiments about the pacing and things. I still think it's the best Metal Gear Solid, at least for me. I didn't put this many hours into any other MGS and didn't have so much fun with any other. Despite all of its shortcomings it is like a diamond for me. A rough one.

Epic Skull Face moment :).

Holy shit, this is amazing lmao

Loved skullface's VA. That 'rest in peace this time' during the honey bee mission was also great.

I would love to save Emma, on Fox Engine. The heat effects from the sun would be a lot better, the water would look like... water, lol. Vamp's boss room would prob look real neat, too.

BUT LET'S NOT FORGET MGS1 AND SHADOW MOSES. I can't even explain how I felt when we went to Shadow Moses in MGS4, i was so happy, and then my favourite MGS song played when you get to the helipad. Dem feels, it was great, for me. I would love to have seen Shadow Moses redone in Fox Engine.

I only ever played MGS4 for an hour or so, I had to watch the playthrough on YT :(.

Then again since 75% of the game is cutscenes the effect was the same :P.

Love the sniping sequence in MGS2, and also the song that plays as you're protecting Emma across the oil fence "Twilight Sniping". Such a cool part.

Ahhh, one of my favorite moments in MGS4. Despite how much I love/hate MGS4, the initial return to Shadow Moses was truly something else. That was the perfect fans ervice. Of all the fan service thrown in our face during MGS4, that moment when you get over the hill and go through that crevice and "The Best Is Yet to Come" starts to play. (That's my favorite MGS song as well, Scotia ;__;) The feels hit me so hard.

It was pure joy in that moment, because MGS1 is my favorite game of all time. It made me love video games. To see Shadow Moses in the glorious Fox Engine, would be incredible. To see the final escape scene...dat epicness.

I simply disagree. Just because of the scene Scotia just pointed out. When you personally return to shadow moses and that song starts to play as you explore the heliport, that was emotional as fuck. I was 7 years old when I played MGS1 in 1998. Playing that part in MGS4, now being 17 in 2008, it really hit me hard. To remind me how quickly time has passed. It was eye opening.

But when the song came on and nobody was talking. That was strange. Could've been a lot better.
Yeah, it's like someone said 'just throw the song in there until they arrive'

About the plot, I was invested until it became all parasites, son. Those code talker tapes... jesus. I did enjoy the real ending with BB just being a dick lol
Have to agree, I lost a lot of interest after the parasites stuff was introduced. And yeah, I couldn't even listen to those tapes, that dude's voice puts me to sleep lol.

I loved it too, but it was a shame couldn't fight the dude somehow. I mean he didn't really have any super powers like Volgin, but still some kind of fight would've been cool. Wasn't expecting him to die so easily lol. That shotgun-surgeon moment was cool though, bastard deserved it :P.

I know, it's not the same, I was just making a joke. Also I try not think about it too much because I am fairly sure I won't be playing this game anytime soon so I want to be as happy as I can from just watching the LP.

That Hibino flavour, such a shame that after 3 his contributions were smaller and smaller. MGS2 is probably my favourite soundtrack in the series.

I'd love to see Metal Gear 1 and 2 remade with Fox Engine, but don't think it will ever happen <(T___T)>... Those Gray Fox and Big Boss battles would be a dream come true in Fox Engine <3.
