Naked Sin you mean? I loved everything with Snake.

But yeah, I already found the mech battle quite ridiculous but still in the realm of awesome. Then stopping a massive ship went overboard. (oh my the puns) He goes on surviving that and even battles with a sword in his mouth and with his feet? Nope.

I know, but we're here to discuss right :p
Anyways, it had been quite some time since I played 4 (played it two times in a row at release and than never). And I don't understand why people could hate Revengeance for being so different. All the signs already pointed to it in 4.

I've beaten MGS4 8 times, the last playthrough I got the Big Boss Emblem. I love MGS4. I just think it's extremely well made. The presentation, the camera angles, the transitions from cutscene to gameplay is so fluid and flawless. What's ironic, I still rank MGS4 behind MGS1,2,PW,3. But, I still one of my favorite games ever.

I'm actually very excited for Revengeance. How does it point to it? I'm just curious to hear your take on it. We have no idea what happens to Raiden after his epilogue scene in MGS4.

I'm just pumped to see the new take on it and the extremely fast paced gameplay. I know it's not a true MGS game, that's why they took out the "Solid" out of the title, and it's totally different studio working on it.

I don't really think MGS4 pointed towards Rising. I guess you mean the over the top moves Raiden displays, but they were still in the realm of believability (at least within the Metal Gear universe). But the ending of the game did point towards Raiden moving away from the battlefield to be with his family.

Honestly, I hated the lovers-discuss-their-relationship-etc-while-fighting-a-number-of-Liquid's-elite-troops-in-a-silly-manner much more than any of Raiden's moments. It was so terrible, ugh!

I obviously mean the over the top action scenes. And most complaints come from the over the top gameplay from the Revengeance trailer. So yeah, I don't get that reaction.

As for the story, it's not canon so they can go crazy for all I care.

Well, it's still not like throwing a RAY. And it just seems out of character for Raiden to be killing for fun, he never had fun in MGS4, it was more like a curse for him.

But I agree that they can do what they want, since it's not canon anyway.

He stopped a fucking city sized ship with only his body. And survived.

I've had this discussion a lot of times when that trailer was first released. :P

He survived, yes, but barely, and lost his arm in the process.
He only delayed the ship for a few seconds, after which it plowed right over him.
He had to nail his foot to the ground with his sword in order to do it.
The ship was also being slowed down by the concrete pier.
It cost him considerable strength, probably all he had.

And in the Revengeance trailer, he just tossed RAY in the air like it's a piece of paper, and it doesn't look like it cost him much effort.

They are both extreme, but from a dramatic perspective, the Outer Haven stopping is presented very differently.

to me i feel like kojima meant for 2 to be the definitive ending and have the fans draw their own conclusions and just be ambiguous on its own and let someone else in his team come up with an ending if need be. but when the fans wanted a proper ending he had a lot of pressure to answer all those questions so he answered them the best he could. i mean i feel like he could have answered the questions in any way but no one would be happy. idk i felt mgs4 had a decent story that was slightly clumsy.

i personally liked mgs4 mainly cuz it was the reuniting of all the characters from 1 to the present and even mentioning of older characters like dr. madnar along with the flashbacks it made you feel nostalgic and i liked drebin alot he added a different kind of element to the term used in other games of "neither enemy nor friend" usually whenever someone said those words it'd mean they be fighting to the death somehow.
