His sacrifice would have been more powerful if he did, but I also like the way the character was 'reborn' and entered Outer Haven to help Snake one final time.

Psycho Mantis Posts: 521 Group: Members Member #28 Joined: Mar 29, 2012	hey this is a mgs2 and 4 spoiler but it is referring to Campbell. this has been bothering me for sometime and thought i would ask. but in mgs2 you see that campbell was an AI however in mgs4 the real Campbell was able to recall the big shell incident and remembers Jack etc etc. so was it the real campbell until later where fake campbell came and was like "whats up?" idk lol.

I believe that the AI knew that the virus wasn't going to delete everything, only GW. Plus, they needed to keep the simulation going (S3 plan).

Negative Nancy Posts: 844 Group: Members Member #8 Joined: Jan 19, 2012	A youtube series I watch "All your History" which goes into the history of video game series, has been doing Metal Gear these past few weeks, they're so far 3 episodes in and it's been a great watch, I would recommend any fans watching it. Part 1 - Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Part 2 - Metal Gear Solid Part 3 - Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 Part 3 is about 85% discussing Metal Gear Solid 2, not much was said about 3. I was expecting the regular shit before having seen it, because part 2 ends with "Tune in next time to see Metal Gear go mental" so I was expecting another GT type look on the game, for them to have a minute of the video focused on 2 call it contrived without backing it up then move onto 3. But I was wrong, almost the entire episode focuses on MGS2 and they go into what it set out to accomplish, how Kojima took breaking the 4th wall to a whole new level and I was extremely happy with this episode, major props to whoever wrote that, ofc shouldn't really have to be said but it's always nice with outlooks on MGS2 that isn't unjustified retard hate

Yeah, I'm familiar with that, I've read a few of these crazy in depth looks at MGS2, it's a little too much for me, I'm personally fine with just appreciating the game from my own point of view, I'm sure there's a lot that can be looked at from what was done with it, but, I'm fine without reading these crazy views on the game even if it can be interesting, it's just not something I feel I have to do to appreciate the story Some stuff is interesting that I've read about in the past, a lot about what the game does in terms of story, playing with your expectations, etc. Edited by Cartman, May 16 2012, 12:00 AM.
