Don't really care about trophy support myself, but this is great news. Hopefully it will result in a boost in sales. |

This may be slightly random but. What are your thoughts on Old Snake? I'm not wondering if snakes U-turn in MGS4 is on purpose or not. He even says "Let the world be" at one point doesn't he? In mgs2 he is all about changing the world. To make a better world. And Big boss says "It's about keeping the world the way it is" right? Has Kojima had a change of heart? Whats going on here? I'm getting mixed messages. |

I feel Snake's pretty eh in MGS4. They certainly dumbed him down and the age thing.. I was hoping we'd get more than coughing, felt like it got extremely excessive, they could've instead explored a little more how he felt knowing things were coming to an end and that after the mission he'd have to be taken out due to the virus in his body (I know this isn't what happens at the end but it is what he thought would have to happen to him) They should've made him wiser with the age instead they just sort of turned him into the dude that does the job. MGS2 he's fighting for the future and keeping the past alive, in mgs4 he's nothing but a hired killer as he himself says wat wouldn't hurt to have had the guy show some passion in what he does and maybe have him show some interest and own input on whatever was going on That said he doesn't suck but certainly doesn't have that magic he had in the first 2 games |

Hi guys! I'm new to the forum. This looked like an interesting conversation, so i decided to drop in. @gamerstation151 I don't remember Snake saying anything about changing the future in MGS2, Raiden even asked him if that was his goal, to which Snake said "I'm not as arrogant as that". I think Snake was talking about fighting for the future generations, and preserving history. The Patriots wanted to control all information, and to perpetuate the war economy. Not exactly an ideal future, so Snake had to erase The Patriots. Snake was still fighting for the future in MGS4, though he never admitted it. Edited by Fox hounder, Jul 24 2012, 09:17 PM.

Yeah, he did say that, but i don't think he was talking about the future. That conversation after the harrier fight is the same part were Raiden asks Snake and Otacon "You think you can change the future?" to which Snake replies "I'm not as arrogant as that". Snake and Otacon's idea of change was to eliminate The Patriots, they (The Patriots) represent the status quo, you could say The Patriots are the status quo, they controlled every piece of information. As long as they existed, change could never take place. Big Boss in MGS4 said that since The Patriots were gone, a new future would be born. |

Wondering if CQC in MGS4 represents the series itself. "Thinking back, It was way ahead of it's time. Nobody was using it yet." In MGS4, the soldiers of today now use cqc themselves. Kind of like how Kojima (Big Boss) is passing on Metal Gear to the future generation (His Team). Just a theory of mine.
