Interesting thing about these MGS2 open ending theories (and the accompanying MGS4 hate) is that they weren't around until about 2 years after the release of MGS4. I remember reading alot of treads on the Snake Soup (which is now basically an elitist MGS2 fan site) in the years and days leading up to MGS4, and most if not all of the members were looking forward to MGS4. And now i read about MGS2's open ending, how it wasn't suppose to have a sequel, how we're suppose to decide what happened ourselves (odd given their anticipation of MGS4), and how kojima only made MGS4 because the fans wanted it (we didn't ask for PW or GZ, but he made them anyway, odd?). Seems to me if you think MGS2 shouldn't have a sequel, you wouldn't be anticipating a sequel. The greatest fear of the guy who runs the site wasn't that MGS4 was being made, it was "That it'll be as watered down as Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater or as half-assed as Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops." It would of been to similar to the ending Sacco E Vanzetti, from which the song "Here's to You" comes from. Edited by Fox hounder, Sep 8 2012, 11:40 AM.

I remember metalgearsolid.org I think it was the first forum I ever joined... I remember struggling making my first post there cause my english was so shit, lol. There were a loooooooot of MGS2 fans there, most users there I think had it as their favorite title in the series, which I always thought was cool, although not all that many were elitist about it, there was a lot of love for mgs3 as well. one post I'll never forget that I thought was fucking hysterical was a thread titled "dumbest line of dialogue in the series" and a guy posted the entire MGS4 script, oh god.. |

Well I'm with them on that boat, lol. I mean I've yet to play PW but from what little I've played I don't really enjoy the type of collecting of things and shit that game has, and building metal gears or whatever... then again I haven't finished the game so I can't be certain but I'd rather do without the collecting soldiers, setting them to do tasks in the motherbase or whatever, nothing that I really wanna focus on when playing a metal gear game the current ones or in the past? current one seems to have been recently added and looks like it has barely any activity, if you mean old then... I can understand that if you mean in later years, it turned into a real shithole with trolls everywhere, but before that it wasn't bad.. but it sort of came out of nowhere, I think some mod left and then the site got hacked and after that shit just fell apart Edited by Cartman, Sep 8 2012, 04:21 PM.

The only reasons I came here were : MGS is my fav series in video games and the members seemed cool.This second part is the most rarest thing I'm ever looking forward to in forums. |

i came here because i was in the mgs faction of GT and i loved the people in it. one of the few forum sections that i didnt see bitching or arguing. you guys seemed level headed and more rational. unlike "i disagree with you so im going to insult you and prove to you i have balls of steel" here its "i disagree with you heres why but have a nice day man" i like that much more than arguing over dumb shit. i remember in the mgs.org forums they even bitched about Big Boss being voiced by david hayter in peace walker which to me seemed to fit more than richard. |

I hate the people on GT that show zero respect to Kojima or the MGS series in general, I mean fine you don't have to like it but they're fucking elitist idiots that think they're fucking geniuses by hopping on the bandwagon of calling the MGS games convoluted wow you repeated something some asshole said online, fucking brilliant of you, you must have amazing taste in storytelling fucking twats, can't stand it. |
