I would have to agree with you, Cartman, to an extent. Played the games or not, showing zero respect for what Kojima and the MGS series has accomplished is usually, if not always, a sign of bias and disdain (straight up hate). MGS isn't perfect; I don't think many series are, but it's one of the closest to being if anything - especially in today's industry when adhering to the latest trend comes as second nature to most developers, here you have Kojima who still believes in making a game that he and his team want to make. Granted MGS isn't entirely niche, which helps. And believe me, I've had my fair share of interactions with gamers who're just incredibly dull to the core, but I think what bugs me even more than them, are, as you said, elitists. But I'm talking about MGS elitists (and other series' elitists in general, ie. Resident Evil fans, Mass Effect fans, Halo fans, and so on) who HAVE played the games, understand where Kojima's coming from, and to a degree can perceive the difference in quality of any other game - but instead choose/or abide by deludedly to perch themselves up on their high horse, and insist that nothing is or ever will be better in any way, shape, or form. And for the record: lolGT. |

GT are among a number of clueless wanabe-taken seriously fools who just change their stance on things to make whatever point it is they are trying to make. They will put out a review about how great a game is, and then a month late say how it failed. They change their stance and tact on things to make empty shallow points. It's how and why they have cultivated such an immature and idiotic audience. |

Nah it's not related to that, and rabbe acknowledges that MGS does story better than a lot of other games (not to say that this is something objective... but it is lets face it, not saying MGS is the best but it's fucking better than most shit) even if he doesn't like it and even if he does generalize them maybe a little.. but he's not being a dick about it, he just mostly makes jokes about MGS being movies for people confused, we had some discussion about this on another zetaboard created by a faction on gt |

I do get insulted when I get one of my favorite games (from which I've learned so much) treated as a movie I mean, we can tell by the constant movie references all over the games Kojima and his team surely enjoy movies and cinematography in general, but isn't that the reason why there is no other game like it? |

Been reading old forum posts around the net tonight with so-called MGS "fans", all they do is bitch and bitch and bitch. Hence why this is pretty much the only place to legitimately discuss MGS. I've been thinking about this for the last couple days...At the end of MGS4, Big Boss says "In this new world, there were no ideologies, no principles, no ideals... Not even the thing she treasured most... Loyalty." But the MSF and Outer Heaven had no ideology, ideals or loyalty to anything. So shouldn't he also acknowledge his own failure to see the Boss' will as well? |

With Outer Heaven, the goal was to create a world in which soldiers will always have a place, so i guess that was their ideology (if that make sense). And their loyalty was to themselves. MSF in PW is a different story though because Big Boss clearly said at the end "We have no ideology". Retcon i guess. But he did sort of acknowledge his own mistakes in 4 when he said: "Boss, you were right. Its not about changing the world, its about doing our best to leave the world the way it is. Its about respecting the will of others, and believing in our own. Thats what yo fought for, isn't it?" There he admits his misinterpretation of what the boss wanted. A military nation that he tried to "change the world" with. |

to me he leaves his idealogies and so on in the past then in mgs4 he is just coming to terms with everything saying how the boss viewed everything but didnt include himself. like when he said "the one thing she treasured most loyalty" i feel that he was including himself in the whole i misinterpreted her will. i dont think he was acting under what the boss believed in after peace walker. |

At the end of MGS4 he reflects back at his actions and it does seem to me that he admits his mistakes. Both he and Zero were wrong with their interpretations, as EVA already explains, and Big Boss realizes this. He calls his actions mistakes, and refers to himself and Zero as a bunch of old fools. |

When I have signed up on a Killzone, MGS or even a Tomb Raider forum. They seem to hail the original like it was the holy grail and moan about how the others are different or too mainsteam. Granted the Killzone 3 story was a bit hollywood movie rubbish but still. My motherbase keeps expanding even though I've done chapter 5. Does it ever stop? Yeah. There is a maximum level for Mother Base, once you hit that level it won't grow anymore (i think the max level is 5 or 6 for five different categories). Go to Mother Base status (or whatever its called) in the Mother Base menu to check your current level. |

Anyway, there is so much stuff in this game, this morning i saw a Patriot gun and just now i saw the battle dress with a visor. Zeke just took out two tanks with one hit. GMP = 771,347 Food = 210% CC = Rnk6 Lvng = Rnk2 Hngr = Rnk2 R&D = Rnk3 MSup = Rnk 3 though I can't remember if S-Ranking it is that good tbh LOL, I have S-Ranked it so it cant be that good... Yeah cool, I'm gonna do the customs after i do the type 2's, just got Chrysalis and Coccon to go. Coccoon is a pain in the. My GMP was 400k five mins ago. My food is 113% (As long as it's above 100 i don't care) My command center is rank 6 r&d is rank 1 Living quarters are zero Mission thingy is rank 2. So how do you upgrade the living quarters and such? |
