While you're right, there is still footage in the trailer of Snake in areas he never goes to, even a battle with the Harrier on the George Washington Bridge, which never happens. I think in this case it is more than just having Raiden show up, but the trailer as a whole showcasing scenarios we never see, from Snake or Raiden's point of view. Even more so, Snake using a FA-MAS, and even running through the Tanker as it explodes and becomes flooded via Ray's destruction. (Both instances which were showcased as player-controlled scecarios. Something I was bummed out that didn't make it into the final game was the running from the water in the tanker, from what I heard it just wasn't very exciting from a gameplay standpoint, but I always thought it looked really cool. But yeah you're right there are a lot of things they showcased in the tanker chapter that didn't make it into the final game, but with GT I doubt that their reasons for including it on the list go any deeper than "we didn't play Snake" If the tanker chapter had been a little longer, I would've loved to have another boss battle on it, the harrier on the bridge doesn't make sense to have though but something else, maybe something akin to the Tank from MGS1 but maybe soldiers in a kasatka helicopter |

Yeah I remember when the Tanker started to flood in the trailer, and we see Snake running towards the camera, hopping over railings and even fighting his way through the water, waist-deep. I thought to myself ''This is going to be so intense.'' but alas, it was never to be seen outside that trailer.  I think little things like that would have helped flesh out the Tanker incident more, and perhaps having Snake go through the Tanker to the deck, and THEN get knocked around, but eh, it's whatever. I also remember if you use a Gameshark, you can unlock a certain locker that includes a enemy BDU (The one Raiden wears) and use it on the Tanker to access an otherwise locked area right before going into the long hallway before ocelot murders one of his comrades. So that is CLEARLY something taken out of the game, but kept on-disc. Despite it's development time, I still feel parts of the game were rushed, given all the footage and various gameplay coding/Gameshark stuff we've seen. I would kill for Kojima to release a disc that is just EVERYTHING he had coded into the Tanker, so we can dick around and see what he had planned. I would definitely pay for something like that. Even if it's cut up into tons of menu sections that have to be loaded for various ''experiments''. Edited by Hoss, Mar 19 2013, 12:08 AM.

shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeet I never knew that, that's fucking awesome, is there a video of this? I used to have... some cheat back in the day, I can't remember what it was exactly but I had a flashed ps2 so I got some disc that allowed me to cheat and I once tried giving myself all of Raiden's unlocks on the tanker but whenever I selected the enemy BDU the game would just freeze But yeah, I fucking absolutely adore the tanker from start till finish as it is now, it's really hard to complain about anything, but if they would've expanded on it more, needless to say it could've been made even better |

Well that's just it, the BDU would cause the game to freeze shortly after equipping it, simply because it's not coded into THAT part of the game, but it was GOING to be used to access an area, is what I meant (I worded it wrong, my mistake). There's also a locker that has the FA-MAS in it, but after you pick it up it doesn't even show up in your inventory. It's just a debug model. :/ The FA-MAS was in once of the lockers in the room with the Raven figure on the floor. The BDU was in a locker in the area leading to the infamous pantry. One thing I loved was the Document of MGS2. I loved looking at all the models and everything and MGS1 Snake in MGS2's engine, even what Snake would look like now days, his Metal Gear ''model''. Shit, that's pretty cool. I never heard of this, I wish my flashed ps2 was still working and I would've at least gone to those secret unlockable lockers even if it wouldn't have lead to anything, lol. FA-MAS would've been nice if it was included in the game as maybe a tanker exclusive weapon just for Snake, could've actually been useful too in the deck shootout oh yeah, I remember spending time in that thing just looking at models and shit, seeing unfinished areas that never made it into the full game and shit Edited by Cartman, Mar 19 2013, 12:18 AM.

I remember only one store out here had Document, no other stores even stocked it. So glad I got mine, have two of 'em actually, one's sealed. I was hoping the whole ''Document of xx'' thing would become commonplace, and Kojima would make one for each subsequent Metal Gear game, but it seems Document didn't even sell too well. |

In Europe the Document came with MGS2 Substance. That was actually my first MGS game. |
