Do any of you know if the Legacy Collection will be packaged similarly to the HD Collection Limited Edition? or will the artbook come separately to the game case?

Just watched it, really nicely put together video and given how Kojima designed MGS2 and how the world has gone following it (and how it was going while the game was being made) I'm really curious to see how and where he takes MGS5.

I wonder if the reason there hasn't been a direct follow up to MGS2 is due to whats pointed out in that video... though I wonder if Konami's money will force the issue given that MGS2-4 is the only hole left in the time line bar an MGS3 prequel

"It seems that there are plans to remake Metal Gear Solid using the Fox Engine. This was announced by Kojima during an E3 2013 interview in response to a fan question.

Kojima said he is in the process of looking for a studio that can adapt the first game to the Fox Engine, noting that some of the mechanics would need updating.

Kojima talked earlier about putting an outside studio on remaking Metal Gear Solid, but this is the first time he mentions the Fox Engine. In any case, plans for it still seem to be there."

And we got it, remember that?

Even if it's not the exact vision, we still got it. Rising isn't relevant anyway.

Probably horrible ones that think Twin Snakes is amazing. ;_;

I don't want anything to do with this if it is outsourced.

Well, Rising was outsourced too, at least the gameplay side.

But Rising is also not main title in the series, nor is it a remake.

Yes, it is.
MGS:R was suppose to be the next proper MGS title from a non-kojima lead team. It was his B-team (in house) b-team that was suppose to be set up to be able to make MGS titles without the need for Kojima to be knee deep allowing him to work on other things... and for what ever reason the game turned out to be garbage and was scrapped.

While I'd love for Kojima to work on other things and for MGS to be more a brand for stealth experimentation, I struggle to see it working out bar Kojima leaving Konami becasue of how hard it would be to make an MGS without him given how much of MGS, is him... on top of that the financial reasons for Kojima being involved are probably a really big deal as he seems to be a pretty sure bet.

I'm really not sure we will ever see a proper Solid title from a team not led by Kojima, becasue of what happened with MGS:R.

It's not relevant simply because it turned out to be non-canon simply because what they wanted didn't work. Even if they had gotten the mechanics down, how on Earth could they make a HnS be 100% faithful enough to be a main entry? It most likely would have gone way of PO, become non-canon over time. But as I said, it is a remake of a main title, and we all know how that went last time this happened.

When you REMAKE something, there is much more room for error as opposed to when you are making a new entry, ala Rising.

I read half of it and skimmed the rest (watching GB while having late lunch) and assumed it was Kojima trying to position away from MGS post MGSV again....

but yeah... Twin Snakes...
