Eh I really need to replay MGS4 to fully understand Ocelot I guess, it's been too long.

No one fully understands Ocelot, except for Ocelot.

I'm not even sure Ocelot fully understands Ocelot, he did after all fool himself into thinking he was another person

Gotta do some extra mission so i can do...The next part. Peace Walker

And the Carl Gustav if brilliant.

Edit: A CASSET TAPE FROM AN OLD FRIEND!

Edit 2: Just thought, what if in MGS5 you played as the boss infiltrating OKB1 on her own. That would be pretty cool.

I just want a fucking remake of MG1 and MG2, and it's never going to happen.

I don't often like remakes. But if they remade MG1/2 in the Tanker/Plant style, I would be happy. Only then can i truly realize the importance of that final scene...

But if they did do a remake, that would totally change the playing order of the series. IMO, because it will probably have references to Peace Walker and 3

Even though I've beaten and loved Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, I would still love to see Kojima's second take on both of the games. The script could be better, the Fox Engine, ughhhh it would be great. I'm not into remakes as well, but I feel like a remake of those 2 games would be most welcome among MGS fans.

Another thing I'd love if they remade them, if they took the soundtrack for both games and remade the soundtrack. I love the music for both games and I feel like Harry Gregson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino would do an excellent job with a revamped OST for both of the games.

A guy I know just got into MGS4. He has no previous experience of MGS. He's also quite new to gaming. Needless to say it's a new and unique experience. He's described his experience as, and I'm paraphrasing here, "blasting my way to the next checkpoint". Now before you bring out your face palms...

In finding a way to explain to him the key to playing an MGS title, I ask you guys, what are some tips exactly to go about doing such? ever read those 'Before You Start Playing...' guides on Kotaku? well that's essentially what I'd like to present to him. What does a newbie need to know before heading in, and once he's in, what should he do?

One tip I would give to him: don't see the cutscenes as interruptions of the gameplay, but as integral parts to the overall experience.

This is absolutely vital.

The fact that you had to pull the trigger yourself was brilliant.

Nope. I liked The Boss's character(they went overboard with stories about her in Peace Walker, though, as if she wasn't tragic enough...), but I didn't feel much at all for pushing the button myself. The cutscenes around it touched me much more than that particular feature. Although, in Infamous 2 the fact you have to
Spoiler: click to toggle
did touch me quite some. It's part of the reason I preferred the evil ending much more than the good one, so I guess those mechanisms can work sometimes.

Btw, I once decided to just wait it out and the game did fire the shot itself eventually. My controller was resting on stable surface, so it wasn't an accident.

I'm really not sure you need to bother putting spoiler tags for MGS3... on an MGS forum lol

If you want to use spoiler tags, that's okay of course. But I don't think we should have it as a rule on these boards. That goes for MGS only of course.

I wouldn't belittle someone for being cautious with spoilers. I was spoiled that plot-twist in Harry Potter: Half-blood Prince, because someone thought everybody knew it already because of the stupid meme-thing(think it was 6 months to a year after the English version had been published and I only read the Finnish translations, which hadn't come out at that time).
