I would love to save Emma, on Fox Engine. The heat effects from the sun would be a lot better, the water would look like... water, lol. Vamp's boss room would prob look real neat, too.

BUT LET'S NOT FORGET MGS1 AND SHADOW MOSES. I can't even explain how I felt when we went to Shadow Moses in MGS4, i was so happy, and then my favourite MGS song played when you get to the helipad. Dem feels, it was great, for me. I would love to have seen Shadow Moses redone in Fox Engine.
Love the sniping sequence in MGS2, and also the song that plays as you're protecting Emma across the oil fence "Twilight Sniping". Such a cool part.

Ahhh, one of my favorite moments in MGS4. Despite how much I love/hate MGS4, the initial return to Shadow Moses was truly something else. That was the perfect fans ervice. Of all the fan service thrown in our face during MGS4, that moment when you get over the hill and go through that crevice and "The Best Is Yet to Come" starts to play. (That's my favorite MGS song as well, Scotia ;__;) The feels hit me so hard.

It was pure joy in that moment, because MGS1 is my favorite game of all time. It made me love video games. To see Shadow Moses in the glorious Fox Engine, would be incredible. To see the final escape scene...dat epicness.
This kind of post is probably better left to Metal Gear General, but eh, oh well.

Yeah, it's funny. Each MGS game has a way to get some tears from me, or at the very least make me choke a bit.

1) Meryl dying made me tear up a bit. And Frank's death made me tear up a little.
2) Olga's death made me cry, because she was such a great character, and hearing what she was saying, seeing her actions against Solidus, it was righteous seeing her jump into action. And as soon as Solidus grabbed her, I knew she was gonna die, but the way she dies and her last words hit me.
3) Being forced to pull the trigger, to kill The Joy made me cry quite a bit. I know most people here know I'm a fag for The Joy but yeah. I waited for a few minutes, and thoguht Kojima was making it a point, that Jack was having a hard time pulling the trigger, then I realized nothing was ever gonna happen, until I pulled the trigger. :/
4) Seeing Shadow Moses hit me, and the entire microwave scene made me cry because the way the screen was split, to show Solid's progress, and how everyone was fighting, but losing. Seeing Meryl and Johnny surrounded, seeing Mei Ling the way she was, etc. The tears flowed.

When we got to Shadow Moses, man. Got a bit close to teary eyes 'cause it reminded me of the first time I played MGS1, and what it did to me in terms of games, and how it instilled the love I have for the franchise. Granted, I've been playing the games since MG1 came out, the series didn't stick to me 'til MGS1. I took so many screenshots with the camera, in Shadow Moses. I loved how everything was the same, absolutely nothing was changed, or moved, it was exactly how we left it, all those years ago. I loved how we got to go to a very small amount of places that we didn't ever go to, in MGS1. Like the BOTTOM floor of the boiler room, among other places. Plus, when we went to the small field where you fought Raven, it was fucking awesome, that is one of my favourite fights in MGS1.

I highly dislike MGS4, because of all of the absolute silly and stupid shit going on in it, but that part did it for me.

"Live, you have to" That hit me too. You're immediately hit with such a responsibility. The life of her child, it's not about you anymore. Before that moment and towards the end of MGS2, Raiden really begins to develop.

I recently beat MGS3 before the release of TPP, and having to pull the trigger on The Boss was actually the hardest its ever been. Even though I've done that part SO MANY TIMES. I think it has to do with being older. I have a better understanding of loss and emotions that I didn't have when I was younger. When The Boss says "You're a wonderful man" That hit me so hard. In that moment, you can hear the sincerity in that line. I didn't just tear up, I cried.

Even though her death in MGS1 isn't canon, David Hayter's VA in that scene when she dies, is so fucking good. I definitely cried. The emotion that Solid Snake shows in that moment is something we NEVER see from him and it's incredible. I almost wish her death was canon because it's so much better.

And yeah, I think the burden (bad word, but it's contextual) of her child being placed on you instantaneously was something that drove it home for me. The very second she dies; responsibility. It was surreal. Plus, the choked up ''Olga!'' from Raiden, as he fell to his knees, was expertly done and really put the emotions out there. Plus, he does a very VERY subtle nod before he collapses, as if he's going ''I will carry out your wish.'' and it was great. It was tough for me, killing The Joy, despite her not having a TON of screen time and or [direct] exposition, but every scene she was in with Jack, really made it apparent they were more than a ''thing''. There was this bond, they were meant to be student and teacher, Jack was meant to carry her legacy, as in her knowledge, and use it to succeed. Putting down the person who brought you through life on the battlefield in a motherly way for no reason but to have you succeed in any mission you're given, is crazy.

I agree. Honestly, it's my favorite ending to the game. The ending with Meryl alive didn't really affect me much, but damn was her death, in the alternate ending, emotional.
I always got that ending just because of how great it was.

...
...
Also because I couldn't press circle fast enough.
Still can't, 7 years later.

I'll never forget that moment. Or anything in MGS2's ending. Of all the games, MGS2 was the only one to make me tear up.

For me, the best part is after everything that happened at once, Raiden's reality crashing down and slowly rebuilt, MGS2 plays this.

Well, my fingers have been trained to SPAM on some button mashing because of the MGS series. I've learned how to do this weird twitch with my middle finger that allows me to press circle pretty fucking fast. Want a tip to press circle fast if your fingers can't handle it?

Use a spoon. Just slide the round bottom part of the spoon back and forth across the circle button. Works perfectly.

I heard about that. Never tried it myself, though.
Doubt my PS Vita would be too happy about it [my PS1 disc of MGS1 is no longer functional, and my PS3 broken, so I can't download MGS1 to it]

i do that method where you kinda tense up your arm while tapping the button and it makes you tap faster

hard to explain, but it works

I know what you're talking about. Tense up and your arm and then make your finger twitch.

God damn, man. This song...

Such a smooth, mellow, and sorrowful credits song for this game. Loved watching the credits scroll down as it showed real life videos of downtown New York. MGS2 is just...ahhhh. I can't get over how fucking good that game is. You're making me want to go play it right now, but I'm still in full Phantom Pain mode. Gotta go back beat MGS2 again before MGO drops. Even though I just completed MGS2 for the fuckin' 100th time (exaggerating...I'm actually not sure, i might be close to that number) during my full series playthrough before the release of TPP.

Still, this song is so great. The lyrics are now more relevant than ever as I've grown up and now that MGS is finally over. RIP Carla White, such a beautiful voice for this song. That sax solo at 2:28...mmmmm, son. I played tenor sax growing up and that solo just hits home. MGS2 is just a polished, smooth game from beginning to end. From it's music, gameplay, design, etc. It rivals MGS1 for my favorite MGS game nearly every time I start to think about the series as a whole.

MGS2's soundtrack is king.

Harry Gregson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino's best work, in my opinion.

And to me, one song takes the crown.

What do you guys think of the soundtrack for MGSV? Burnett only has a handful of tracks but goddamn are they good and Forssell put up some serious work, must have been a blast for the dude. Shame that his track 'A phantom pain' doesn't play during an intro full of 80's vibes.
