MGSV's OST is pretty fucking good. It's much different. Instead of the epic feel that the past MGS OST's have had, this one has a more sinister and evil sound to it. It's great.

I really like the OST for MGSV, it's got a nice dark undertone to it.

What do you guys think of the soundtrack for MGSV? Burnett only has a handful of tracks but goddamn are they good and Forssell put up some serious work, must have been a blast for the dude. Shame that his track 'A phantom pain' doesn't play during an intro full of 80's vibes.
I think it's confusing that Russians and Africans are listening to American pop music while guarding an important outpost.

It's not American pop though...

Soundtrack fits the game really well. I just wanted more HGW, he had a signature sound for the series that was a little lacking for TPP but it's not like it ruins anything. What I want is custom audio tracks.

The first half of this song. Perfect example:

PS3 got custom tracks in GZ, yet PS4 didn't. I don't get it. I would love nothing more than to listen to my favorite albums as I free roam. I'd upload almost every MGS soundtrack.

But, MGSV's OST still is fantastic. You can tell that HGW didn't make it, just produced it. He just has the epic feel to all of his music. Sounds larger than life.

As far as I'm aware, PS4 doesn't have music storage, right?

Yeah, that's why.

...Which fucking sucks.

I was planning on doing absolutely ridiculous stuff with helicopter music when I first got a PS4 and Ground Zeroes.
Disappointment incarnate.

theres an alternative version of the theme at the end of the game too.

I don't understand how it's not on the OST

Seriously, my favorite song I've heard in the OST

and it doesn't exist outside of that scene...

you feel it too, don't you?

Oh man, the fact that they changed the music in that scene still makes me upset. I was waiting for that incredibly dark, evil BOM BOMMMMMMM right when he delivers the line "I'll pull the trigger" like the trailer does it.

But when that moment happened in the game and the music was way less dramatic, my heart fell. It didn't have near the intensity that the trailer had. I can't wrap my head around as to why they changed the music for that moment.

Yeah, that scene feels really flat in the game.

You know, I saw a thread last night about how Solid Snake is shit, and a terrible character. Not sure if I agree. Solid, according to some, was a pawn until the very end and during all of his endeavours, even after destroying the Patriots, he had no idea what he was doing. Unsure if I agree with this, to be honest with ya. Solid has always had (even if it was in the single digits before MGS1) a group of people he either cared about and loved, or cared about and loved him. Whether he was a pawn or not, he fought to keep the world safe, for them. He made sure there was a future for the ones he cared for. A world free of Snakes, free of the Patriots and free of the ideals of Big Boss. In comparison to Solid, all of the other Snakes were dumb as fuck. Big Boss and Zero ruined the world for everyone on it all because they couldn't get over their permanent boner for The Joy and her vision, of which they all had skewed ideas on.

Meanwhile Solid did his duties, washed away his sins and the sins of his father (kek) so a new generation could live safe, and free and make a future for themselves. People are also going on about how Big Boss died a lonely man, full of regrets all while Solid died (let's face it, he's dead) knowing all or most of his loved ones genuinely cared for him and with the peace of mind and a clear conscience. But to me, I see it as Big Boss (MGS4) died with his son by his side. A son, a man in every sense of the word who had righted his wrongs, rinsed the blood from his hands and was shown to be among the absolute best of men. To me, I don't see that as dying lonely. I see that as dying happily. ''This is good, isn't it?'' comes to mind.

Only when you reduce his role in the series to it's absolute basic role does the word "pawn" come to mind when speaking about Solid Snake. Sure, he wasn't privy to every detail and always seemed to be asking questions but his deeds to right the wrongs of the Metal Gear saga make him the real Legendary Hero. Hes a man who doesn't half ass anything. He whole asses it. Also, yes he's dead.

Whole asses it, lmao.

I think people are just hating on Solid because of what MGS4 turned out to be. Everyone had a boner for Solid until MGS4.
