Sooo, you won't read my post because you're lazy? I'm not buying that, I'm banking it on you being afraid because you know everything in my post is truth. Don't come here and post criticism if you aren't willing to take criticism from other people. That is cowardice. And lo and behold, as much as you might want to believe since you're backed into a corner, I have indeed played everything PG has put out. You have a beautiful way to share your tastes and opinion! And I came on the forums to DISCUSS about metal gear things and all what surrounds it , not to LIKE everything about it. There is a news about something and I comment on it...you mad? I'm not allowed to discuss the subject 'cause there are things I dislike about it?You can't be serious. Call me ignorant if you want. You're just saying how about stupid I sound when I say I don't like a video game studio(with arguments and reminding it's only my opinion).Congrats! I'm not talking gameplay wise , it's pretty obvious since all we've seen are screenshots of them. I assumed you were smart enough to understand I was talking about it in a stylistic design perspective. It's not obvious, since you stated nothing of the sort. ''They are cheapened.'' how does that relate to ANYTHING art style wise? It doesn't. That's a term you'd use to describe an experience with something, i.e. playing the game. Don't use words you don't know the meaning of then try and say someone else didn't understand you. |

The multiple-armed one looks kinda pasted together from existing characters, though I doubt it would bother me when I play the game itself. I've come to expect this sort of style from PG, I don't play their games looking for good taste so much as over the top. After I was done digesting PG making a whole different game out of Rising than originally thought and that it would be a spinoff, I stopped seeing it as a Metal Gear and more as Devil May Cry. Next they say Raiden can morph like an Autobot, and I would be just fine with it. |

The demo footage is nice, looks like the kind of stuff Raiden has done in MGS4. White Raiden is what we see with blond hair, and non-cyborg body, fighting Sam. Sam defeats Raiden, but killing him, and cutting his eye out. Raiden is ''rebuilt'' into what we see now, and is from that point on known as Black Raiden. He has an internal struggle with his past, as his defeat to Sam is causing him to slowly slip back into his Jack The Ripper personality, and he struggles to keep it at bay. This explains why he is shown as laughing and enjoying the killing he's doing. I wonder if that is a Metal Gear, that Raiden looks up at (the huge mech). Edited by Hoss, Sep 20 2012, 10:54 AM.

It's still cool to have new trailers , my opinion about the game is not dependant from PG itself but the kind of things they will do and put in the game (cause their games have a lot in common each times), if they have a genius strike , I'll be glad to change my mind about them on MGR. I'm neither stupid nor stubborn or close minded , I know I don't like their way to work but I would be super happy to be wrong or to feel another way. And ffs if I don't find it original WHAT'S THE PROBLEM (I didn't watch 'em yet) ? People nned to show some respect over opinions that's terrible and nauseating. Scotia , why don't you insult Zuben caue he said it was more DMC and less MGS for him? It's a different opinion than you I bet!He dared! For me , the different gameplay style isn't a problem at all though , a little change is always welcome. edit : The static stance in combat looks ridiculous... |

I don't insult Zuben because he actually presented his post with logic, you on the other hand didn't do anything of the sort. Drop it. You're ignorant. I'm not the only one here who sees this. And I respect opinions, so long as they aren't based out of ignorance. You don't know me or my stance on Rising, almost everyone else here does, due to the faction back on GT. Some even know my stance on MG fans (such as yourself) that don't want too much change, some fans you lot are... If you wish for me to lay down my opinion on Rising and get everything in the open, ask me to do so. I'm just going to lay things out here regardless. Rising is a nice breath of fresh air for the Metal Gear name, even if it is under a new house name. A true fan of Kojima's universe and general work would appreciate his decision, to outsource a name and let a new dev take on his characters, in their own way. People like Gye, Zuben, even SolidLiquid I'm sure, can see where I am coming from when I say that if you are a fan of something, you welcome change knowing that even if it is at it's worst, it is still a piece of a franchise you love, and maybe in the long run, that ''worst'' is still one of the best, solely due to the name it is attached to. You don't like PG, that's fine, but you are being so critical over this, as if it shows you're a true fan. The way I see things, you like the Metal Gear name, that's cool, but you're not a fan if you're not willing to accept a change in all forms, developer and all, and give it a chance without doubt. That is what being a fan is, following a franchise, or a product, being their to support it in it's new life and hope it grows. Nothing is ever without flaws, nothing is ever perfect. Your posts resonate with the feel that you want things to be like what Kojima has done, and frankly, you're on Cloud 9 with that. It won't happen. The Metal Gear fans that are there for the whole trip, and have been there since this game's announcement, they are the fans the game deserves and the ones Kojima has grown to know. Judgmental fans are not fans at all. They are only fans for as long as they want to be, and drop their ''love'' at the slightest sign of change, or become disgruntled with one-sided opinions. You are acting as if I am the only one here who thinks you were being ignorant, but open your eyes, dude. I'm not. Kojima wants to do something with a character he loves, literally. Raiden is his favourite character in this entire universe he's crafted under the Metal Gear name, he wants that character to flourish, so he is giving that character that chance he feels it deserves. All the while he has some of his ''fans'' doubting things based on a company he has put his trust into. People like you, and loads of people on GT, even some self-proclaimed ''die hard'' MGS fans have spat in Kojima's face based one one tiny thing, be it PG, the game's direction, or otherwise. It's disgusting and makes me not want to be involved in this franchise's growth at all. To sit alongside people who are so entitled, is abysmal. (Not referring to you with that line) I am really excited for Rising, because it is a new direction, even as a spin-off, it is new. I hope it grows into something amazing, Kojima deserves it, with all that he is putting on the line for it. I'm not going to address any of your posts after this, as you have shown me you would rather whine than try and handle criticism, I'm not for that. I definitely understand where you're coming from when you say, that a fan welcomes change with open arms, even if the change is at it's worst. You know me, I'm most definitely a fan and I know many people on this site from GT (MGS Faction) are fans as well. Rising is a new opportunity for fans. It's expanding the MG Universe. If anything, this spin-off is great for fans and Metal Gear as a whole. It adds diversity and shows what you can do with Metal Gear, it's quite cool if you ask me. The gameplay looks fresh and clean. From what I've seen, we are going to have plenty of cutscenes. Sure, this game might not be every MGS fans cup of tea, but we still don't know that much about the game. I'm sure Kojima told PG that this game should be able to transition well for his fans of his previous games, or else he wouldn't have entrusted this whole game to PG. Kojima knows what he is doing and his track record clearly states that. Sure, when Rising was first revealed to be under PG, I was thrown off, but I wasn't angry. I just knew it was going to be much different. I kept my trust in Kojima because I know he made that decision for the right reasons. He wanted Rising to best it could be, just like he does with every game he makes; He's a perfectionist. So by him putting this game under PG, I know he did it for the best. I couldn't be more excited for this project to be released. It's different, it's badass, a new dimension to the MG Universe. I too hope, along with Scotia, that this game flourishes and just blows people away. |

So sweet that we're gonna see exactly what happens to Raiden, and how badly he gets fucked up (obviously he dies). Hell, we already see him lose an arm and his eye in the trailer, right before he gets offed by Sam.
