I really hope they go back before the Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake timeline. I want that young Snake voice again, like MGS1. I understand that his voice by MGS4 was so scratchy because he's getting so old, but it would be nice to hear him young again.

Yes, that's what I think. it would be nice to play as a very young Snake again after MGS4. But from what I understand Hayter couldn't really do the voice he did in MGS1 anymore. That's why he sounded different in MGS2. In any case, it would sound different from MGS4, though.

Was operation intrude his first mission? Because i would like to see snake around that timeframe. And also see how big boss was doing around that time. I don't want them ruining the tragedy of MGS4 by making a sequel where it turns out he wasn't really dying or something silly like that. Snake is dead.

No, I believe his first mission was in Iraq with the Green Berets (Gulf War), when he was still a teenager. Liquid was in Iraq as well at that time, but he was working for the SAS.

Chances are that it's going to be about Big Boss in Africa, which is great. Hopefully we'll see the greatness of Frank Jaeger, eventually becoming Gray Fox. If not, then a game about a young Solid Snake would be awsome too. If it's when he was in the Green Berets or Foxhound (meaning a remake of MG1 I guess) doesn't matter. I wouldn't want a remake of MG2 since Metal Gear Solid is basically MG2 with 3D graphics.

A game about The Boss, Frank Jaeger, Liquid could also be something really great.

I haven't play MG2, so I can't be sure, but I never understand how this works. Isn't the story completely different? Another moment in the timeline, story, characters,...

What is different is key plot points, What is simliar are many, many other things such as characters, bosses and certain events:

SPOILER ALERT FROM MG2

- An old friend becomes a Ninja (Kyle Schneider) just like Gray Fox. And we fight him to death.
- A boss that uses stealth
- Four mercenaries in an elevator has to be defeated
- Being chased by soldiers up several spiral stairs
- Meeting up with a female ''soldier'' in the womens bathroom, like Meryl & Snake, Snake and Holly ends up liking eachother.
- Freezing/warming a key that changes its shape
- A fan of Snake helps him out in crucial moments. This fan is Gray Fox like in MGS1.
- Similar endings meaning Snake nearly died but was saved at the last moment.
- Hind D vs Stinger missiles
- A friend of Snake betrays him
- Roy Campbell & Master Miller is our commander and survival expert.
- Game manual plays a part in both game

This is by no means a complaint as I liked Metal Gear 2 alot. The game has awsome gameplay, music, characters and story and should be played by everybody who enjoys MGS as a series. But making a remake of MG2 would look too much like Metal Gear Solid. The original Metal Gear has a more simple story which makes it more open for creating interesting characters, bosses etc.

But if they were to make a remake, they can change what they want. I don't mind about some returning elements, that's kind of a staple of the series. But for things that would be too similar, they could just change it. They could still use the basic storyline to build an entirely new game on, which is what I imagine from such remakes anyway.

Sure, they could change what they want and who wouldn't love the cigarettes, cardboardboxes and other MGS usuals. However, are the key plotpoints worth it to recreate a whole new game? Personally I wouldn' t want to wait until 2013-2014 for a game like that. I would rather have a game about what happened with Big Boss in Africa or Gray Fox, The Boss or a new story about a younger Solid Snake.

I would certainly want a remake. But those things you mentioned would be welcomed too. ;)

That's why I always say there's a lot left to explore in the series.

I agree with you, I would love that remake too. However I wouldn't want it to be ' The 'Next MGS''. And yeah absolutely, this series has alot to be explored. I mean there's The Boss, Gray Fox, Liquid Ocelot, there's some Big Boss left too and others aswell.

I had this dream recently about the 25th anniversay that is coming up in about a week or two (July 7th or 14th, I'm not sure), where Hideo Kojima announces that he would make his last 3 MGS games... Too bad it was a dream

The anniversary is July 7th, already looking forward to it. We will get a Fox Engine demo, that's for sure, and it might be actual Project Ogre footage as well.

I probably said this before. But i would really love a game about Meryl post MGS1 and what happened with Raiden after MGS2, yknow with him saving sunny and learning the scout knife stuff. Come to think of it, have Meryl and Raiden actually met each-other?

Predictions guys?

I don't think Meryl and Raiden ever met, it's never suggested at least as far as I know.

As for a game about Raiden, taking place after MGS2, well, the script already exists. It's somewhere in a closet at Kojima Productions, and they might use it in the future.
