Perhaps it's the same demo, maybe an extended version I can imagine.

Yeah, I believe it's the 14 minute demo from PAX.

During a special stage event at the Tokyo Game Show today, Kojima Productions shared new details on Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

Here’s the breakdown:

Loading is always done in the background, so it’s basically an open world where loading screens do not exist.
The exception to this is when you travel by helicopter—there a loading screen will be inserted.
There will be many Grand Theft Auto-style open worlds, and these are connected by helicopter.
The video that has been released is of the prologue stage, so it’s a small open world. There are bigger ones.
The game has a concept of time, so it varies from morning to afternoon, and then to night in real time. [This could mean "game time," I'm not sure.]
Before using the FOX Engine on other titles going forward, they want to create the standard with open worlds.

Holy shit. That just made the game even better. A true open world MGS. The possibilities for this game is endless. They're really going to make Big Boss the ultimate badass in this game. You'll have to be completely aware of your surroundings at all times in this game. This is like a dream come true.

I wonder how much of an impact choosing the time and weather condition will have on sneaking missions. Middle of the night during thunderstorm or during daylight in the sun. Hmmm...

That could be the beauty of it. Choosing when to execute a sneaking mission. Maybe certain missions are better in the daylight, or better at night with a thunderstorm, or a foggy night. Like I've said before, they can do so much with this game.

Hmm. I'm imagining escaping alert phase would be easier this way, no? or in some cases harder given the weather and time of day - compared to past MGS titles.

As SolidLiquid said, the possibilities here...

I'm not entirely sure what they mean by loading screens being in the background but I sincerely hope it isn't set up like Max Payne 3, that was a pretty bad choice by Rockstar, the forced cutscenes were perfectly fine on first play but replays not being able to skip them due to the hidden loading screens were annoying as shit

But if it's one thing or the other, I'd rather watch cutscenes than loading screens.

They stated that if too many soldiers were around when u call the helicopter they could be able shoot it.

These are really awesome news!Really really good news.I can't wait.GZ might be my most anticipated game ever ,that's saying much , considering MGS4^^

I don't think it's what they meant. The word streaming means it will be seamless I guess , not in cutscene I hope (I'm playing Max Payne 3 and hell , I've never seen a game so unable to tell its story otherwise than in cutscenes , it's terrible)...though I love cutscenes by Kojima :D

I don't mind the fact that the story was told during cutscenes, I mind it more that the game had too many cutscenes for mundane stuff that should be done during gameplay

- Opening a gate triggers cutscene
- Passing through to another room triggers a cutscene and locks off earlier part of map

that stuff was what later bothered me. I still think the game has absolutely fantastic gameplay that is just a blast, but they really needed to trim down on the cutscenes and have the game play more like the first 2 titles in the game.

That said MGS Ground Zeroes is already an open world game so we already know that we won't have cutscenes for passing from area to area where it locks off part of the map. It's just that I'd rather they find a way to just stream the entire world (it is acceptable to have loading screens between helicopter rides) so if I wanna skip a cutscene I can.. I mean I don't know about you guys but when I play MGS I play them ... A LOT, as in over like 30 replays on each iteration and it would absolutely kill me if I couldn't skip cutscenes and was forced to watch long cutscenes every single time when playing when I just wanna sneak some bitches

I prefer skipable cutscenes as well, best thing is if you can pause them and then choose to either skip or resume.

Kojima made the right decision with MGS4 by being able to pause and skip cutscenes. I wish that was an option way earlier in the series. And me....I always watch the cutscenes, I don't know why.

It vastly depends on the game in fact.

I also watch them always, it's my main reason for playing the games in fact.

...what? Having an option to skip a cutscene depends on the kind of game?

Oh god not again. Pausing cut-scenes in the previous game would have been great, they should have at-least let you pause when you entered the xmb in the collection.

No, I mean having the choice to skip it (the first time or not) when you can see a cutscene.Depends on the game.Pausing is alwys a good feature.
