I would prefer to have the option in every game. So you can choose if you want to skip them or not, or pause them.

I remember all the games I took back from the beginning cause I accidently skept an "important" cutscene. And when I was a kid when my mother called me and I was in the middle of a cinematic or so....
Pausing should be allowed in all games.^^

It vastly depends on the game in fact.
...what? Having an option to skip a cutscene depends on the kind of game?
Oh god not again.

No, I mean having the choice to skip it (the first time or not) when you can see a cutscene.Depends on the game.Pausing is alwys a good feature.

Ah, I see., Well, I think skipping should be an option, but have it done in a way that you can't accidentally skip a cutscene. A button press will not skip a cutscene, until you press it an additional two more times. I think that model would be great, and some games implement it. You press a button, and in the lower corner, that button flashes with a message ''Press ___ twice to skip''. That way you are alerted, and are given a choice. Of course, the START button could also pause.

Indeed, I hate it when cutscenes skip with just one press of a button. Worst example is Resistance, even the shoulder buttons skipped the cutscenes. So it starts to play, I put down the controller to watch, skip.

Story will evolve as you push through the game’s hub/mission structure

oh well.. ;_; .. but why, it's not a psp game and it is open world, this will severely affect your attachment to the mission at hand and make for another disjointed mgs experience.. why not make the campaign a more seamless experience like past titles.. cheapens the experience imo to have set mini missions.. I mean you all know my stance on this, no need to explain it in detail again.

You can walk around your base, and design it, maybe possible from your smartphone. Designing your base is optional, and will not be required

this is good

I updated the post a little. Quite some new info I must say.
The news post is a bit of a mess because I had to take info from different sources, but I hope it's okay.

I don't mind, I loved the PW style, the amount and variety of the EXTRA OPS missions was so good... If the GZ mission structure is the same, then this is good news for me.

If you want to progress the story, choose the Main Ops, if you want more gameplay to mess around with you still have Extra Ops.

I mean I guess I'm retarded for expecting something that isn't mission based in an open world title, I just can't help but compare it to PW, maybe they'll make how you move from mission to mission more seamless and less blatant (back between menu screens looking at score points) but yeah you updated it as you said but when I read mission/hub structure that's what my mind jumped to

I liked being able to choose small missions, but I also agree with Cartman that it makes the game feel more fractured. But I guess it depends on how they will do it exactly.

yeah I think its a little early to call it out as anything like PW's structure...

you have to look at it objectivly... its an open world game, if the story's main narative was the only mission, it being an open world would be rather pointless and it might as well simply be MGS4 with slightly bigger enviroments.

I think the mission structure will probally be more akin to that of a traditional RPG rather than PW becasue PW was designed with a pick-up-and-play mentality.

It could be comparable to Mass Effect. One big story, a base (the ship) from which you can choose worlds to progress the story, and with optional planets as well.

The real thing that makes it fractured in PW is the tiny little zones you have to explore , imo , not really the mission system.
It's open world so it's obvious there will be a hub where you'll have to pick up mission(s) -when you leave or not- , but it won't be separated in small locations like in PW , which is a good thing.

Yeah, if the areas are large enough and they still have a good overall sense of progression through the storyline, it won't be a problem I think.

I'm sure that he will make it to where we know what our objective is and what we have to do to get to that point. Making sure progression feels fluid instead of forced. I'm sure he's taking his time with this.
