It's an endless series of proxy competitions, fought by cooks and chefs. Baking, and its vast consumption of resources, has become a rational, well-oiled business transaction. Baking has changed. ID-tagged chefs carry ID-tagged utensils, use ID-tagged appliances. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their actions. Ingredient control.. Recipe control.. Appliance control.. Kitchen control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. Baking has changed. The age of confectionaries is now the age of control, averting catastrophe from recipes of mass deliciousness. And he who controls the pantry, controls history. Baking has changed. When the kitchen is under total control, Baking becomes routine.
